Froyo Release Thread

I did a couple searches on the thread and couldn't find a definitive answer, so my apologies in advance if I'm beating a dead horse...

I wiped data and cache 3x and then used SPR restore to install 2.2 but didn't have root access. If it matters I came from Bugless 1.1.

I see that some have this problem and others don't -- does anyone know why, or what I can do to get this working with SPR?

First check if you still have root, open android terminal and type "su" look for "#" to see if you are still rooted. Root your phone again if you lost it and then flash 2.2 over

or try 2.2 using clockwork recovery

I still need to figure out how to get Flash on my Droid (I use a Mac) but I was able to successfully install 2.2, get root privileges back, and OC to 1.2 GHz. dancedroid. After installation I ran a speed test and am now faster than a Nexus One with 2.2.

I still need to figure out how to get Flash on my Droid (I use a Mac) but I was able to successfully install 2.2, get root privileges back, and OC to 1.2 GHz. dancedroid. After installation I ran a speed test and am now faster than a Nexus One with 2.2.

When I restore my text from SMS backup & restore(about 8000 texts) the messaging application freezes and force close. And it cause me to lose the power+X option. Only boots to a blank screen. Took me about 2 hour to reflash to 2.0.1 from RSD and back to 2.2.
So BEWAR IF USING SMS Backup & Restore!!!!

By any off chance did you remember to change the message application defaults of auto erase at 200 texts to something much higher or off before doing the restore?

I think that is what screw it up, I try to go back to settings to turn the auto erase off but it would fc's as soon I go to messaging settings.
I want to retry restoring my text again with auto erase off this time , but dont want to risk it happening again.

BGill55 sent me a test of his Clean Black ROM. It took about 4 minutes to reboot my phone, but it was worth the wait. I added a couple of screen shots to show you, but it is very nice to have a theme, and one from BGill55 - one of the best out there. I'm not sure what his timeline will be, but I know he's still at work right now.

What do you think?

Ok, I was fine with the 2.2 stock look seeing as I've been running SG variants for the past 6months or so. But when I saw the K9 icon I was like "YES!! That'll go sweet with my Tardis Wallpaper!!" Can't wait!!

Launcher Apps don't stick

One thing I have noticed, is that LauncherPro and ADW.Launcher both work in 2.2 but once you hit the perm home button you automatically get reverted to the Froyo Launcher, even if you set the others as default.

Using Home Switcher to manage my Launcher Apps.

How did you over clock to 1.2? With froyo and did you get back wifi?

My LauncherPRo sticks, must be a app interfering in yours
