Galaxy Nexus: Looks Like December Launch

I'm not going to wait for who knows how long. Dec 8th could easily turn into Dec28th. Think I'm going to check out the RAZR and Rezound this weekend and pull the trigger. If I'm less than 100% satisfied AND the Nexus comes out before the end of December then I'll consider paying the re-stock fee.

I like to think they're working out the bugs during this time. Trying to be optimistic about it, the only rumor I truly believed in was any late November date anyway. Guess Dec isn't too far away, I'll be upset if Canada gets it before us though so we better get it before or by the 8th

I haven't been eligible for an upgrade until recently so I don't have the frustration most of you have on waiting for the release. All I want to know is... will this phone finally be a reason to retire my OG Droid? Hmm... Samsung hardware makes me nervous.

i think alot of people are just saying...give a date. so if they know they will release it by decemeber 8th. then tell us december 18 and release it early! give us a time line though. thats all.

Agreed. I'm waiting however long it takes. But a date would be nice... I just don't think the Razr or Rezound can replace the OG. But it seems like this thing gets worse everyday. It suddenly stopped notifying me of emails. I am glad to hear that its not Verizon holding it up for some reason.

If Dec 8th it is, then that's only two weeks. I can handle that.

I'd rather just have the ability to preorder the device now so I have peace of mind knowing that it will definitely be in my hands soon. :icon_ lala:

I know how you feel. I still think it's a great device, but the longer it takes to come out the closer I am to a quad core and my phone receiving an update. I have a D3 right now so it's not like my phone is a slouch.

I have said it before and i will say it again those who are not rocking a OG Droid or gulp...older you should stop crying.We OG Droid holders are hanging in there for the best everyone else is just spoiled :icon_ lala:

Dont jump the gun wait for the Tegra 3 phones or just rent one for 35 bucks tell January.

I'm with you there too, but think about this. If you're a Verizon customer (I am), how many phones with unlocked bootloaders will there be in the future on our network? I think not many.

Has there ever actually been an official statement that the Verizon version (note emphasis on Verizon) is going to have an unlocked bootloader? From statements that Motorola has made, Verizon is against bootloader unlocking.

This is a bummer but not a total shock. One thing that we all can appreciate is the concern by current nexus owners about the lack of search button and the subsequent addition of the search button. That kind of response time further strengthens my belief in Android and Google. Other companies out there listen to constructive user feedback and respond with why the user base doesn't need that requested feature. So that is definitively a positive from this situation.

Still can't wait for the nexus to hit.

I never did see a confirmed apology from a few members here to P3, BB, TBH, and MDW after that hate thread from a few days ago. But as was the consensus, if you make enough guess some are bound to be right. I've been out of the community for a lil while and it's rather disappointing the change of tone at this place. It used to be a place where one could chat and get help, then pay it forward to the next group of newbs. Now its who's right and who's a shill, or diatribes and docudramas of who's working from whom.

Seriously, people keep slamming Verizon but Verizon never gave a date. Just that they were getting it. How do you slam someone for changing a release date when they never had a release date?
