Galaxy Note 2 waiting Lounge

The display is amazing and I cant stop thinking about it! My buddies phone was right at 4 hours of screen on time and I was watching vids, streaming, downloading bunch of apps - really pushing it. He still had 43% battery left. Man I'd love to have battery life like that!

Only thing that would be better is if the rumors were true about the samsung nexus 5 and sammy used the same screen, battery and build to make a nexus.

I am going to wait for this also....I keep reading and watching reviews and it just makes me want it that much more. I already purchased a 64gb sd card and 3 cases to try!!! The only thing I am debating is if I pay full price or not so I keep my unlimited data plan...$700 is an awful lot for a phone. Any feedback from folks on what they are doing??????

I'm paying full retail for this thing. Unlimited is worth a lot. I swear I've watched hrs on YouTube videos this month about the Note 2 and have burned up 12.6gbs as I type this and I don't feel like I have used that much but that's what it says so there's really no option for me. Not having to worry is worth a lot.

Also I look at it as more then a phone, it will be top of the line, its a GPS, a MP3 player, plays Video games and way so much more. Phones are more then phones these days and that's why I thank its totally worth it. It does everything.

Make sure to consider things like adding a dummy line, transferring your upgrade to it, buying the new phone on that line and switching it to your unlimited line. Then cancel data on the new line. Paying the monthly fee for a voice only extra line may be a lot cheaper than paying full price. Also when paying full price you risk them changing their policy and ending unlimited plans altogether at come point after you've laid out all that cash.

I don't have a upgrade tho, I'm only a year in my contract so no upgrade plus they technically can't change my plan cause I'm in a 2yr agreement with that line.

Also to my knowledge I didn't thank u could add a line anymore without putting ur whole family plan into the "share everything plan" loosing ur unlimited ???? Correct??? Cause before I would always add a line, use the upgrade, get the phone and then cancel the data and just use it as voice like u said but with these dumb share everything plans I thought it put a stop to that, if so then no one should pay full price for the phone and do it that way but don't think that's possible anymore cause before it was $10 a line, now its like $40 and everyone shares data.

If you don't have an upgrade there's no choice but I believe you do not have to go share everything when you add a line. They told me you can add the tiered data only on one line and keep unlimited on the rest. Of course if you don't specifically ask they're unlikely to tell you that. This is Verizon we're talking about.

If you have room for another line you should be able to add it without a problem. Don't mention that you are going to switch the phones just ask to add a line with the note 2 and switch it at home. Make sure you have a basic feature phone to put on their line, the data will cancel automatically

I had a question about this. I already have a dummy line that I made so I could upgrade to my thunderbolt. I think its up for an upgrade. If not, one of my other lines definitely has one. Can I use that upgrade on the dummy line and then switch things over like you suggested?? Also would they charge to cancel the data on the dummy line? I'm looking forward to getting the Note 2 but wasn't keen on paying full retail.

You can add a line without going into the share everything plan. I actually just did it about a three weeks ago, I added a line bought the GS3 on discount pricing then switched the GS3 to my old line and put a dummy phone on the new line and canceled data.

I asked a Verizon rep about upgrading an alternate line then switching phones to my number and he said that whatever number has the upgrade available will lose the unlimited data plan. Right now, my line will be available in 2 weeks so I was thinking of upgrading another line with the note 2 then switching the device to my line. I don't care if the other line loses it because no one really uses it now....I added it to upgrade a while back. But you are saying if I go into my account and make the switch there BEFORE upgrading that I can upgrade the other line (losing the unlimited on that line which is OK) and then switching the phone to my line and I will be good to go?? Just want to be sure about this one. :)

Thanks

OMG then that's what I'm doing then. I didn't thank there was a choice anymore. I thought any new line added put u in the share everything. Then this is exactly what I'll do and just pay the 10 extra a month for voice. $10 is the current amount for voice a month correct?

You could... or... sell the unlimited data line, seriously you could probably find someone to do ask aol (assumption of liability) on an unlimited data Verizon line for more than full retail of the note 2. Who knows.

Either way yes I've opened lines before just to get a new phone then put a regular basic phone on and cancelled data. Wait for two years and cancelled the line. Does it cost me $240? Yes... over the course of two years though it's not a big deal. Besides 199 + 240 = 439 which is still less than full retail of 700... so suck it Verizon I'll keep my unlimited as long as I damn well want
