Galaxy Note 2 waiting Lounge

Light flow will definitely help.. You can select the pattern on vibrate... Plus if you miss it the notification light in different colors will keep flashing... Small battery sacrifice for an excellent app IMO...

Try the app Light Flow. You can change the vibrate patterns and maybe there is something that will work for you.

Thanks for the suggestion. Seems like it has a specific Samsung issue but may be well worth the try. I'll give the stock vibrate pattern changes a chance first though.

All but ready to return it.

I use my phone on vibrate all the time because of meetings and obviously if vibrate is not strong enough to get my attention the majority of the time then the phone isn't usable in that fashion. I know I cannot simply expect myself to remember to put the phone on silent every time someone important enters my office or even when I go to a meeting. I consider it unacceptable to have my phone go off in a meeting with a customer or someone in the management team.

There are some vibration patterns that seem more strident than the default, if not, I am likely to return the phone. Perhaps I can just keep in on silent and check it much more often, but that is less than appealing to me. Does anyone else have this issue?

the vibrate seems pretty strong to me.. but im coming from a GNEX.. which was pretty weak.. you can custom make a vibrate theme.. did you attempt that?

Coming from a Rezound, I can concur that the vibrate is a bit on the weak side. When I had the Rezound sitting on my nightstand, the vibration, sitting on a hard surface, would actually be as loud as a ringtone.

So I stopped by the Verizon store a few hours ago and picked one up at full retail. I was originally thinking of getting the white one, but decided on the grey. I'm glad I did because I really like the brushed metal look of the grey. Got a screen protector for it, but will have to wait until next week to put a case on it. Ordered a Seidio Surface case and holster combo through Amazon and it will be delivered Monday.

Congrats on your new toy!!

Has anybody tried adding ringtones/notification sounds to your GN2?
Also, anybody get easy tether working on theirs? Any WiFi tether apps working that DO NOT go through the built in Vzw tethering? I put foxfi on the demo at a store, but the notification popped up that made me suspect foxfi was going through vzw's tethering. That'd be a total deal breaker for me. Gotta have the WiFi tethering minus paying big red for it.

Thanks!

OG droid had the best vibrate if any phone I've had. Didn't need a audible alarm to go w/the vibrate on that phone. Lol
