Getting a new phone soon, having a hard time making a decision...please help

Okay. I wasn't being snotty, just asking since you installed the program. Did you run it? You need to in order to install the drivers. Run it, clean out the old one, install the new ones. Those are the drivers you need. The ones on the bottom, if you compare model numbers, are for dumbphones.

Oh, I know. No worries. :p

4.8.0 is the latest driver, correct? Because it asked me if I wanted to install a 4.7.1 driver...huh. strange.

Okay...I think I did what you told me to do, it installed..and it also directed me to Verizon's website, to download VCAST Media Manager? I have it connected with the USB cable, but it's not charging. Should it be?

Yes it should be. You need to have the driver installed and then reboot the computer.

The program has the 4.8.0 drivers in it, but I think the one for the Droid lineup is still only 4.7.1.

With 4g phones coming out in 8 days?!?! at least wait another week for the HTC Thunderbolt if you really want a new phone and cant wait then Id recommend the fascinate... end of story. Its
-Currently the fastest phone in the lineup
-Super Amoled screen
-Overall best phone in verizons lineup
the only con is bing being the search engine.

Okay, it charges now with the UBS cord. Thanks for all of the help, and I guess I should keep VCAST Media Manager?

It's also locked down tighter than the US Mint and doesn't even have FroYo yet.

Actually rooting shouldnt propose a problem, its the custom ROM you have to be careful with.

Im currently rooted on my droid2global and have no plans on flashing custom ROMs anytime soon.

Heck, rooting allowed me to extract the google maps .apk and install it on my Archos tablet when it wouldnt show on the patched Market (due to lack of gps).
Sent from my A70H using DroidForums App

Huh. Well, that's good...my phone froze. >_> I wasn't doing anything that required a lot of memory or CPU usage either, I was texting two people...and then I tried to open the application Seesmic.. and then it froze.

The case I have is just annoying to take off and on... -_- extremely frustrating.

It turned off/on by itself, and now it's frozen again after I tried opening Seesmic...

edit: just so I don't keep adding 100 posts...now the Android Market place isn't opening, constantly loading at the white screen.. >_> let's see what else i can find wrong with it..
