Gizmodo Review

Can't be worse the bionic camera.

nothings worse then that....LOL j/k

it is looking pretty dang bad for the nexus's camera though. I really thought its camera was going to be some goodness. I REALLY want this phone, but the camera on my phone is something i use 1-2 times a day. :(

i agree with most of this review, especially the processor part.

It would have been better if they would have shot the rezound at full res and not in widescreen mode. the rezound pics would have looked even better. full res is 3264x2448 not 3264x 1840

The camera is probably the least used feature on my phone and I hadn't even considered it as a purchasing factor, but those examples in the Gizmodo review actually give me pause. Very disappointing results compared to the Rezound. The Engadget pics are a lot better, but it's hard to say since they aren't side by side with comparison shots. :|

A side by side compassion from another site , there is definitely something wrong with Gizmodo's unit

I also agree that there has to be something going on with Gizmodo's unit.
Whether software or hardware idk. But all of the pictures taken with their GNex are washed out and are lacking in contrast.

From the other pictures that I have seen taken with the GNex, along with that timelapse video that was shown to us during the phones reveal, I find it hard to believe that the camera looks that bad. Something is def wrong.

Eh. Maybe I'm just not as nitpicky about the camera on the G-nex as some people are but it doesn't seem that bad to me. Yes I admit that the pictures did look a bit washed out/faded when compared to the other phones but they still looked nice. But perhaps that's because I've never had a decent camera on any phone that I have owned and it isn't really that much of a deal breaker for me. *shrugs*

People make way to big of a deal when it comes to cameras on their phone.

Its not professional photography, its for snapping a quick pic or video.

People dog the razr's camera...looks fine to me. And is a lot better than my old thunderbolt.

I don't see how the camera is bad either. Sure it may be the phone's least spectacular aspect but it still seems completely capable and will serve its purpose. Unlike my ogdroid camera which sounds like its going to burst into flames every time it turns on

Camera aside, they took some awesome shots of the Nexus itself, looks beautiful.

Also, anyone else notice how much more viewable the screen was in direct sunlight vs the Rezound?

Looks promising.

That was in direct sunlight?! Wow, nice. This is one of the features I love about the Bionic.

Um, there's nothing "wrong" with Gizmodo's Nexus.

Do people know anything about photography? Every reviewer will be shooting under different lighting, and the Crayola shot looks like it's studio flood lighting which means it might as well be like shooting outside in bright day light.

The Gizmodo photos are probably far more realistic.

I'm personally not bothered by camera quality, in it more for its speed. I rarely take pictures, but when I do it's one of those times where I want the picture almost immediately and I have to wait for those seconds for my inc camera to fire up and be ready, precious seconds wasted.

As for Gizmodo camera being messed up, I'm no expert with photography, heck I'm just one of those people who uses cameras for those worthy moments, but it doesn't seem too bad. Yeah the photoshopped images were much more colorful, but maybe they look better on the phone's screen? I mean I understand we want the camera to be good, but it is a phone camera after all...

Sure, the nexus camera might be inferior to the galaxy s2 camera, but it still seems good enough for my needs. When i'm at a party I want it to take something that isn't atrocious and allow me to put it up on facebook or g+ easily. Having a zero lag shutter will probably be good for that and the picture quality, while not as crisp as my $500 slr, seems like it'll do fine when I want to look back at the festivities and go "yea that was a good time" and share it with friends. Amazing picture? No. Good enough to capture the event? Probably.
