Doesn't hurt to try either way really. You can peel off the gold sticker if you do it first, or put the gold sticker over the black if you do that first, heh.

You could try like modeling black paint or something but would need a very good steady hand. You don't want it to clump up or not be smooth.
You'd think that a $600 phone would at least have gold anodised buttons, but come on coloured foil/paint?
Yeah, I agree, pretty sickening. What troubles me is I take very, very good care of my phone. I'd venture to say much better than the average user. I've had it since launch day basically and not a single scratch, drop, or visible detractor. Now this gold button thing. Who knows where'd it be if I was *gasp* a normal user or even worse to my phone than average.
