Google Earth for 2.1 is out!

im running BB 7.5 and it won't show up in the market at all. pretty frustrating

edit: is there a way someone could post the file or something so those of us its not showing up for could just download it?

I'm running BB7.5, but I edited my build.prop so I could dl live wallpapaers, and it's showing up for me. (used root explorer text editor to change ro.build.version.sdk=6 to ro.build.version.sdk=7)

can you explain that further please? Like step by step?

I installed root explorer and opened it, found the build prop file but I'm unsure how to change it. Any suggestions?

Works for me with DroidMod 1.0. I didn't try searching for it - I just went to my list of installed app,s went to google maps, then clicked to view all applications by that dev.

Installed quickly and works well.

Apparently I am doing something wrong then....cuase i don't even see that option either

Sure! (I wish I could find the original post for credit, I think it was adrynalyn.) Use Root Explorer to navigate to the system folder, in which you'll find a file called build.prop. Hit the Mount R/W button at the top to allow editing and then long press the build.prop file to bring up a menu. Scroll down to 'open in text editior'. Four lines down in the file you'll see "ro.build.version.sdk=6" ... Change the '6' to a '7', and then back out and hit MountR/O. Reboot, and that should do it.

(Standard disclaimer...Make sure you have a backup before editing if you want to be safe. :) )

yea, that's what i was thinking he meant to in the market. I remember a while back i did a search like he mentioned, a "look for all apps by this developer" type search, i've tried finding how i did it but can't seem how..

Some ROMs (newer BB for instance) have the build.prop edit included so that users can access 2.1 apps in the market. Others don't, which may explain the varied results people are seeing. It's not actually the firmware, it's what version the Market thinks you're running.

Wow, if I ever need a hand warmer, I'll just fire up Google Earth... my Droid got warm in a hurry. I'm running Droidmod (Sholes) 2.0.5 overclocked to 800Mhz.

Runs smooth though.

Well... I found the text editor in my Root Explorer app, opened the build.prop file and located the line that ended in sdk=6. I changed it to sdk =7, then rebooted. Still can't find it. grr...

Edit: Nevermind... I'm a dip**it. I found it.:icon_ banana:

ok seriously....this is getting annoying, now we really need 2.1.

How hard is it for someone to mod it so it will run on 2.0.1 without issue? (should take 5 mins right??) I want it now!
