Google Voice

Hmm very informative!!!! something to Think about! I appreciate the quick response!:motdroidhoriz:dancedroid:icon_ banana::icon_eek::blackberry::heart::blackdroid: lol

It's like everything else out there. Some will find it useful. Some won't. None of us can tell you why you can't live without it.

Have you read any of the countless GV threads? Have you tried reading any of the GV guides out there on the internet? IIRC, Gizmodo had a pretty good one.

If you have some specific questions or problems feel free to ask and we'll gladly help.

Which option is best? Google Basic or All Google?

Okay, now that a VERY nice individual provided me with the invite I've been pining over... I need to select which option is "best". Not possessing anyone local that I'd know actually uses said features, I put it to you - my fellow DROIDS to advise and educate.

So - what are the benefits of going All Google, vs the Basic Google? Any down-side to either?

What about cost? Surely isn't a "something for nothing" deal... is it? Oh, I know... the international calls are discounted greatly, but - still... does either cost anything if you don't make calls out of the US?

Any reply will be greatly appreciated!

For me it is a number to give out to people such as utilities, credit card companies, etc so that I don't have to keep them updated. I can change numbers as I please without worrying that my insurance guy didn't get updated.

Family and friends can call me directly but all others get the GV number.

Wow, I got 4 GV invites today.. i signed up on all my email accounts and they ALL got invited this morning, anyone looking for an invite?

Just got an invite yesterday. I like that there's no advertisements on the emails they send for voicemail. Also, like the transcriptions. The only thing I'm missing from Youmail is if someone would call and hang up without leaving a voicemail it would send me an email. It's useful for when I'm at work because I don't have access to my phone. Sometimes the daycare calls without leaving a message.

Try to find a gizmo5 account and setup yur home phone for free. That's what I'm trying to do but I can't get a gizmo invite.

ps if anyone has a gizmo account I've got a google voice invite to trade.

Yes I'm aware, yet some people have accounts that they're not using or extras. There were some on eBay but I don't really want to take that road. Rather someone in the Droid community help me out if they can.
