Having An Issue With 2.1 - Come In Here

Apps I am currently working with:

Open Home
Beautiful Widgets
Handsent
Weather Widgets
Weatherbug Elite
Lookout mobile security
Gloss Icons

OH and no live wall running at this time.
uninstall Open Home then restart the device.

I do know a while back a few people complained about Lookout Security but go with Open Home first.

CK what do you recommend for a replacement home app? I actually loved Open Home and have had no problems with it until now. FYI same with Lookout. I was having troubles with ATK and dumped it a while ago.

I've still got the issue where I'm unable to download from the market. It searched and opens just fine. I just get the "download was unsuccessful" error. I've tried batter pull, replacing the shortcut for the market, standard rebooting. turing wi-fi on and off, turning airplane mode on/off. Its been about 45 mins since update.

Ok then lets try a factory reset. Settings/Privacy/Factory Reset. You won't lose your apps, all you'll need to do is sign back into your Google account.

tough call my friend....

I would run it stock until the Devs get the home replacements "patched"

There is certainly going to be issues with some of them. Which ones are having issues and which ones are not I'm not aware of at this time.

But to eliminate any performance issues I would wait a bit for them to catch up.

I wouldn't use any of the home replacements if you are getting lag. They all have always lagged and caused other issues every time i tried one. Even if you thought they weren't a problem before they have always seemed to me to cause lag and more likely are the reason for problems not the update.

I think you're right Hook, i'm noticing my Gmail is not connecting and the last sync (under settings-->accounts and sync) is 2 hrs old. I guess i'll have to do it. I'll post back when done. thanks.

Okay. Thanks to you and Hook for all your help.

.wav files and overall feel?

Can .wav files be opened from the email app now without a workaround?

Also, is the overall feel of 2.1 "sleeker" than before?

3d gallery

I just downloaded and installed the 2.1 update manually and everything seems to work fine except when I go to the 3d gallery it says application not installed. wondering if the file I downloaded wasn't complete does anyone know for sure how large the file is.

That's happening because you're trying to run it from your home screen and not from the apps itself. Drag it from the homescreen into the trash and re-add it from the apps screen back to the home screen. It will then work.

Thanks alot for the help. thought something had gone wrong with the update.

I waited this loing for nothing? Well, not nothing, just pinch and zoom. Yeah, its a little snappier, the gallery works better but....weak

wanted separate thread not specific to problems but was closed

What did you notice different after you successfully updated to v2.1?
Lets face it everything isn't always posted in the change log and somethings might have be unintended.

So I will start with the supposed change log from a Verizon email.

Voice to text not only works for texts and emails but also inside apps like facebook and even the browser. Basically, whenever there is a text box the voice input button is to the left of the spacebar in portrait mode.

I noticed that the live wallpapers seem to lag the UI when scrolling through menus etc. When I turn it off and go to a static background the jerkiness goes away.

Also noticed in "running applications" there are two "voice search" programs running one 8.7mb and one 6.2mb, whereas before there was only one.

Also the live wallpapers is considered an open application and is in the running apps section.

Some people have stated that their battery has improved drastically. However, I have had 2.1 up for the past 5 hours and don't really notice any improvement. That may change when I have had an opportunity to run it for the whole day.

I have not had any application conflicts with the update, but live wallpapers did crash once and reverted back to an earlier static wall paper.

The news app seems pretty sweet I like the ability to swipe left and right between the different new categories, though it probably won't replace my current browser based RSS reader.

In the weather app if you tap the temperature it shows the temperature and the precipitation on a shaded line graph.
