Having An Issue With 2.1 - Come In Here

I received 2.1 a week ago while on vacation. After installation, I checked the version in my phone and it said that my OTA was update1. To me this can only mean that the complete OTA upgrade is not complete.

So, it isn't just the manual updates then..lol thanks for letting me know I was scratching my head on this one for awhile...
I know it might be hard to say but I read somewhere that you can't get any more regular ota updates if u updated manually. I really hope this isn't true since it would be nice to actually try and get the updates normally in the future. I dont wanna have to rely on doing the "harder" procedure all the time, id still like to get updates normally.
Also can anybody here confirm if the MANUAL update REALLY DOES OR DOESN'T VOID YOUR WARRANTY????????? Cuz I'm reading different answers from different sources...

This is totally untrue. It doesn't void your warranty. There is no difference at all between the OTA and manual. If you want you can go into your SD card and delete update.zip. You will continue to receive additional updates.

Call me king obvious or tell me im late with the times but i just found out the led light thing is not an issue but i think its a feature. I tested it out. I turned off my screen and sent and email from my ipod touch and it blinked! Lol i actually think this feature makes sense. If my screen is on i dont need the littltle light, the email icon on the top left is good enough for my need.

I am having issues saving pics sent to me in a text message since the update, when touching pic to enlarge it and save it, it goes to the full screen to view but the options or menu or more. Features to get to the point to be able to save the photo does. Not stay lit up long enough to click on the option to save the photo, anyone else having this issue and if so How do we fix It?

Yeah, me too. Use to be, you long-touched the pic and it gave you the option to save it or dump it or... No more. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it. However, my wife just upgraded her phone today to a Droid (GASP! Two in one house!) and we signed up for a class on Droidism tomorrow morning. They offer both basic stuff and advanced (whatever that means), so I'm going as well to see what 'advanced' stuff I can learn. I can't imagine they know more than the collective minds here on this site. I plan to ask about that seemingly lost picture saving feature.

I wonder if I should also ask about "Rooting". Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! :wink:

I've noticed the Gallery takes forever to update with new pics? Anyone else notice this? After taking pics, I try going into the Gallery and they aren't there for a couple minutes. Is there anyway to update the gallery?!?

well, it SEEMS my poor battery life issue is resolved.

what happened: long story short, it ran out of juice, completely, it wouldnt charge so I took out the battery for a little bit. Then, I put it back in & it started charging. at the end of the day yesterday, with my usual use, it was at 70%

so I conclude the battery pull fixed it, imagine that LOL

I had the same issue. I took a photo with the camera and it wasn't in the gallery. I looked in the DCIM folder with Astro and the pic was there. When i went to open it Astro asked what program i wanted to use . I selected gallery. After that it showed up in the gallery list.

I'm running BB09 with Chevys 1.25GHz, for some reason the 2.1 OTA starts downloading by itself in the settings section. The update will not install because I'm rooted but it keeps doing it over and over, and its getting annoying. Anyone out there that has encounter this issue. :motdroidvert:

What a great post. YES I have had this happen several times before I realized that I actually had to save or instantly do something with a picture and also a couple times when what I had wanted to do either email or use Facebook the process failed, I was certain I had lost those few pictures. I had asked awhile back and received no response, so seeing this post is awesome. Finally I have found a few images I thought were lost.

1.) My caller ID doesn't show up until the 4 or 5th ring and it's really getting annoying.
2.) Sometimes, I get random notifications to activate my Droid... when it's already activated.

Anyone have the same issue? Thank You.

Try the small stuff first like a reboot or pull the battery out. That usualy fixes it. If not you have a warranty and insurance (i hope) take it back.

What did you find out?? The txt pics I want to save I used to just touch pic and it would open the pic for veiwing then at bottome right of screen there was a menu you could touch and option to save pic that way, after the update when I go thru the same process the menu tab at bottom right flashes for a split sec then is gone each time you touch the pic, it doesnt stay lite long enough to use the menu tab...

Live Wallpaper/App Issue???

Everytime I set the phone to a Live Wallpaer it works fine until I reboot or turn the phone off. It then resets back to the normal wallpaper I had prior. I know I'm not the only one; anyone know of a fix or why this is happening? It happens with all live wallpapers.

Also, before the update to 2.1, the apps I would download from the market would be in the app list without rebooting but now I have to turn the phone off the back on or reboot for them to show in the list. Any fixes for this?
