Hey, Is this thing better than the Charge?

Why are people so obsessed with the screen of the charge? Everything is so clustered on the main screen, on the browser, not to mention over saturated...that phone is the definition of ugly, cheap. Pay 300 for that phone? Ha! It felt like it cost 20.
The main screen was laggier than my tb no doubt. My tb feels great, rich...it's like getting out of a mercedes and hopping into a kia for a drive. There's no comparison between these two phones. None at all. Tb wins.

Who cares if its over saturated. It looks better. What do you mean everything is clustered? You can delete things. Everything is clustered on the browser?
There is no difference!

They are basically the same phone.

Except the Charge has a better screen.
And the Charge destroys it in battery life.

And sorry you can't call the TB a mercedes. Maybe a Toyota Siena...lol
And a Toyota Sienna with an empty tank because it won't be running long...

Over saturated = fake. To me, that doesn't mean it looks better.

No not the same phone at all. Nothing about what's inside the phone is the same. From what I've seen people complain about charge battery life also. The thunderbolt standby time is actually supposed to be longer according to different websites I've seen comparing the two phones.

my phone has been off the charger for 19 hours and it's at 51%...1700 battery.

Like I said, for this phone you can hack it, get a bigger battery, do whatever it takes to make the battery longer. What are you gonna do for the charge to make it feel like you didn't but it at the 99 cent store? What are you gonna do about the fact that it can't perform nearly as well as the tb?

True. I can't argue against that.
Maybe I need to try the phones a little longer, and not base my opinion off written reviews.

My bad.

I bought the charge. When it came down to it, the battery life was the kicker. I like it. The only thing I had the thunder bolt better at was in the devs department, but hopefully that'll get better.

Thanks for everyones opinion, but they both appear to be the same phone with the exception of the charge having a better screen and battery.

Ive used the TB since it came out. Got the charge when it came out mainly because the screen and supposedly better battery. I went through 2 charges and they both sucked. Very glitchy and much slower at doing everything. Battery life was better for me on the TB. Back to the TB and the ONLY thing I miss is the screen.

So my friend picked up a Charge. The screen seems like the colors are almost too much. We compared side to side performance. Now my TB is rooted and running CM7, and his Charge is stock. It wasn't even close. My 4g speeds were consistently higher, my Quadrant scores were double his AND my battery life is significantly better. I'm not sure what the fuss is over the Charge. In no way does it feel like the quality is higher than the TB. I believe I read an article where the TB is the most expensive phone to make as of right now. There was an obvious studder with his screen running ADW. Mine was almost too fast. We set everything up the same.

I would love to hear why the Charge Quad scores are so low. Didn't make much sense to me. Also, my camera seems to take cleaner pics, but his audio seemed better in videos.

All I need is Netflix on this beast and I'm ready to roll!

Charge is a nice phone with a great screen. The thunderbolt has a nicer ui and better build quality plus a way larger dev community.

But i think both are great. Aslong as the charge has better reception then my fascinate had :icon_evil:

The charge is a nice device. there is a the voodoo lag fix and the battery life trumps the Tbolt any day of the week.

The tbolt is a great device as long as you dont mind buying an extra battery or 2 and the build quality is better IMO.

I bought the TB to replace my D1. this D1 overclocked to 1GHz runs cooler and the battery lasts all day. The only reason I wanted a new phone is that I had to turn the speaker all the way up to hear people.

I play with the TB and the Charge in the VZ store and went with the TB, because I knew it could be hacked to hell and back. (free rooted wifi tether is the biggest feature)

I have it less than a day and experience every single issue posted. the phone is a POS. then the roms break it even more. want gingerbread? runs as crappy as on a D1. Full speed, but all the problems. I can't win.

I installed Teslacoil 1.7.1 and have it setup just like my D1 and am pretty happy so far. The battery improved and I can hear better on the receiver.

After work tomorrow if it still sucks I'm going to unroot it and exchange for the Charge or see if I can get a refund and wait until they have dual core 4G phones.

I understand jumping on the 4G bandwagon back in Feburary with only the tb and charge to choose from and the next 4g phone at least a half a year away... but now you mind as well skip both of them and get the bionic. Its waaaay better.

From all that I read, tbolt whomps he charge, but the bionic beats the tbolt. I had those issues on mine, but they went away when I put on a descent rom. It's different per user.

When did the bionic get releases? I mean that's the only way the last two posters could really suggest it to someone..... Right? For all we know it could be a DX2 with LTE and a new body. Which would not be that impressive to me.

I guess if you would like another locked down Motorola phone yes it would be "waaaay" better. But then again it might be worthwhile to wait and see how something actually performs in real life before making comparisons.

But if you like the whole package including the ability to take control of your phone by unlocking the bootloader then T-Bolt is the way to go.

O pleeease lol. There is so much scrutiny surrounding this phone there's nothing left for it to be but a hit. When the thunderbolt came out it flopped right out of the box with problems, and still to this day it has major issues, damn near 6 months after release... Yea its most likely gonna have a locked bootloader, but at least motorola has a higher percentage of a phone working straight out the box with decent battery life.... really your choice. I know I wouldn't get neither the charge or tb right now though...
