Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

First time Sapphire user. Wiped data/cache, restoring backed up apps/data (not system data as per the wiki) and Titanium Backup is spamming me with "Titanium Backup has been granted Superuser permissions". Never had this happen on another ROM before. Any ideas?

open up superusers and turn off Notifications!

Wow apparently I fail at using Superuser lol. Thanks I feel pretty silly now, I never even checked to see if it had a settings screen. I was just surprised because I've never seen that before. Of course now I'm in the middle of a restore, but that's ok. Going to try this again tomorrow when I have time and pick a different theme since Nextang wasn't doing it for me. Started too late to get my contacts > facebook reassociations done and get my non-gmail email accounts set back up. Really excited to give this a good shot though.

Thanks for the great work. I am running into issues. The install went smooth until reboot and it skipped the gmail sync. I put the gapps zip (named it update.zip) moved the old update.zip from the root and wiped all data 3 times. Then installed and rebooted but it keeps skipping it. Any other ideas?

Edit: Also missing the market app.

wipe for the rom install but not for gapp update (at least i didnt). market app is in the gapp update file. it will appear when you install that.

My install also went well, but for some reason apps did not sync at all with market-they had to be downloaded and installed manually. Took a while. Any thoughts on why that might have happened? Gmail and other settings synchronized normally, no fcs or other weirdness.

Also...couldn't find flash on the market ...but 2.1 apps that weren't available for 2.2 (NY times) now are. What fingerprint is this using? Sure looks like 2.2, but...

Tried it without the wipe of any kind but still no luck. Also tried it with just the cache wipe but nothing.

Sorry but this rom is just not working for me. Launcherpro plus FCs constantly and I am also getting FCs trying to run gem settings. I guess I will wait for updates or until some bugs get worked out

I've been running Sapphire 1.0 for almost 4 hours now, with LauncherPro Plus 0.7.2.0 and I have not had a single FC in either GEM settings or LauncherPro Plus. Did you do a full wipe before flashing? If so, did you try and wipe again?

I am not having any LP issues either. I did a full wipe and everything is running smooth.
I found that trying to restore LP with Titanium Backup has caused me problems in the past. If you're using TB try NOT restoring LP data - just let it restore from the market and use the LP preferences to restore you settings.

I have 1 wierd Force Close, its not anything big just wierd. when i try to open google maps from the market info page the market force closes. it does not seem to happen with any other app just maps.

anyone else get this?

I can confirm this. Just tried it and got the same thing. Very weird indeed!

WOW!! Amazing ROM!!!

I'm still getting ads though..is there no built in ad-blocker?

If there is, how do I enable it?

Many thanks to the Sapphire dev team, its awesome!dancedroid

I'm a little confused on switching themes in this release since there is no stock theme available. It says this in the wiki

"With this release, we have done away with the “stock” theme in favor of just re-applying the provided update/gapp update without wiping data "

So does that mean we just flash the new theme over the current one, or that we need to reflash Sapphire 1.0 and then the gapps update and then the new theme? I'm using Gala S right now, but I was just about to go to Watermark'D.

EDIT: Nevermind, there is another thread that clears this up!

After using it for the night last night and this morning, I'm very, VERY happy with this ROM. It's been running very smoothly. I also really like the Gem settings. I was very excited to see that I could lower the minimum auto-brightness to 2...and then I tossed my phone in my dock and hit the dim button...AND THE LEDs TURNED OFF WITHOUT THE NEED FOR AN EXTERNAL PROGRAM! zOMG I about wet the bed with excitement. I'm not sure if that's something new to the 2.2 code or something that Sapphire added in, but I like it.

My only problem has been getting the phone.apk to switch to cytown using switchapk, but I can always manually switch that if needed.

Excellent work on this ROM. Definitely my new default.

I am having the same issue with switchapk and cytown. Terminal is throwing an error message when I try to switch. Hhmmmm....

On a positive note this Rom kicks rear!! I just switched from Lithium and am keeping this one around for a while! Great work Gents!
