Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

Up time 23 hours 45 minutes ... battery remaining 80% WOW!!! That was with several phone calls and moderate use of net and using several applications. Wifi on all the time. GPS off. Bluetooth off. No playing audio. Left it on overnight too. ;-)

Thank you Sapphire Team!

p.s. Stability = ROCK SOLID

Would you mind sharing your kernel settings?

My sapphire is KILLING the battery, where as the bb.4 I ran for a month would easily go 2 days.

I'm using the stock kernel that came with Sapphire 1.0.0 - Min 125 Max 1000 - On Demand - I uninstalled SetCPU - I don't run Bluetooth or GPS unless I'm plugged into external power (in the car). I generally run wifi to my DSL Modem/Router all day long.

What does Spare Parts/Battery History say where you're using the most power?

Im having a serious issue. Can someone help me out of this one please...I put this rom on and it was great other than my Gem Setting was force closing...So I wiped dat and cache and reinstalled the rom. When I did, after reboot I have nothing but a very stock rom and cannot sync with google, i have no contacts, apps, nothing... Im very worried now! Please help a noob!!!

It sounds like you need to install google apps (called gapps). The link is on the Wiki - install like you installed the ROM.

I installed the Rom through Rom Manager... Now I dont have that. I dont even have a market app. At least If i had that i have a titanium backup. Im completely at a loss right now. I dont wanna do something stupid and brick my phone somehow....Really worried!

go to sapphire.ccroms.net, click on the 1.0.0 link. Download the gapps update (based on which recovery you use -- clockwork or sp... I'm guessing clockwork since you mentioned using ROM manager which requires CW for installing ROMs) and save it to your SD Card.

You can also download the ...gapps.zip file to your PC. and move the file to the phone via USB.

Reboot into recovery mode. *you should have a recovery option on your power-down menu*

Install the ...gapps.zip update (WITHOUT wiping anything) which will install all of the google apps and allow you to re-synch your contacts and download your apps from the market.

reboot and enter your gmail credentials...

Should be ok after that.

OK, on your initial install with ROM Manager, did you select the "Google Apps" when going through the selections?
If you did it's just a matter of finding it on you SD card and installing it again through ROM Manager

What kernel/clock are you running for that? I was about to comment on how poor the battery life of Sapphire seemed to be compared to CM6RC2, which always lasted close to 30hrs for me with normal use.

I'm running the default kernel that loaded with 1.0.0 - Set to Min 125 Max 1000 - On Demand - I did uninstall SetCPU - Not sure if that has any bearing, but ...

Just checked my battery and it finally dropped to 70% at 25 hours 3 mins. I've been updating apps, moving some to SD and doing other management things for the last 40 minutes. ;-)

So you're just running that...are you running any other programs that use data or prevent data usage (such as juicedefender?)

This rom is awesome.

I love, LOVE the new features, how the GEM settings are integrated with the stock settings, and how you are able to choose your minimum brightness settings, its just awesome! No need for the autobrightness patch.

There are even more features that make this rom stand out.

Thanks for the work!

Got rid of Juice defender a couple weeks ago. No special apps, just Wifi (it has used 17% of the power)

Time since unplug from charger is now 33 hours 55 minutes and battery level is reported at 60%

Edit: Just a note. My local cell tower is just 1/2 mile from me so my 3G connection uses very little power.

Just wanted to say thanks to the cvpcs team for this amazing ROM. Coming from BB 0.4 and so far this is just silky smooth and problem free.

I do have one question, in BB you could set apps2sd to either be disabled, forced on always, or set to auto for app preference. Is it possible with sapphire to set these things somewhere or is it just auto always? Thanks!

You need to use the terminal program to set variable 'setInstallLocation' to a value of 2. Search this thread for 'setInstallLocation' to find the details.

Thanks, when it is set to 2 does that mean all apps installed from then on will be put on the SDcard or it will only let me move apps already installed? Then set it back to 1 to have it on auto again?
