Holy Finishing Touches Batman, it's Sapphire 1.0

i hate this rom is TOO STABLE. LOL well for me at least. im getting bored since updates are far an few in between. hahahaha im used the a new release every week. LOL

Anyone else starting to have wifi issues? Was working but now shows connected at home but cant surf. Also cant connect to new networks just shows obtaining ip address..... Stock kernel and 1.0. Any ideas? Thanks.

Had this happen to me a couple times. Turned out it had automatically connected to another open access point in the neighborhood with a lousy internet connection instead of my access point.

I have 2 wifi routers on different channels. One's set up as a router, the other as a switch/access point. Not sure how the droid handles switching from one channel to another, but every once in a while I need to stop and restart wifi.

My initial thought is not well. I had set up a range expander and the phone would connect to the expander but not actually access the internet...it worked fine with all my PCs but i think the phone just got plain confused because there were 2 of the same SSID's floating around

LOL - I feel ya. Just for sh*ts and grins I've been trying other ROMS lately ... I have yet to come across one that holds a candle to Sapphire 1.0!

I had similar issues recently. So, I "fixed" the problem. I have 2 separate internet connections at home (I work from home a lot) and one is connected to a netgear router and the other (my fiber connection :D) is connected to my airport extreme and airport express. I had been getting weird issues with all the devices in the house and ran a program that scans the network "traffic" in your area (it checks signal strength of all the networks and what channels they're on, etc) and determined the networks were stepping on each other. My solution was to lock my fiber connected network with the airport extreme and express to 5ghz wireless N only (so no Droid) and allow it to use a high channel and keep the netgear mixed mode. Since I've done that my wireless networks are reaching further, not stepping on each other, and are much more stable connections. My laptop gets 150-300mbps on my airport network. And the Droid is happy on the mixed mode network. I can live with that. Also, a tip for people having issues...add the power widget so you can quickly turn wifi off and back on. This helps.

Traitor! :p LOL! I haven't flashed anything since Sapphire 1.0. Eagerly awaiting the next update which hopefully will be sometime in the near future. The changelog looks good. I've never been happier with my phone since installing this with the Droid X theme.

LMAO - It's funny you say that, cuz while (briefly) running these other ROMS that's how I feel! I can't wait for the update either, hence my ROM jumping - now when the update drops I'll appreciate it that much more

I've been so happy with 1.0.0 I really haven't thought much about the next upgrade. It's all icing on the cake at this point for me. :)

I have no intention of trying anything else right now. My network extender just came today and fixed my signal issues at home (thank you VZW!) so I'm really quite happy. They did not seem pleased when I told them I had no signal at home while my wife was running around with her iphone 4 with full signal. :D They took good care of me. So, I'm extremely pleased.

Well, my ROM jumping started this weekend (more out of boredom/curiosity than anything else) but I have a feeling I'll be back to Sapphire before the day ends :)
I should have just tried different theme rather than other ROMS now that I think of it. But, there are just SO many ROMS out there now had to do some "comparison shopping". I'll admit some ROMS have very cool features but lack the stability I get from Sapphire and personally I'll take stability (and sanity) over "cool" features any day of the week.
I do have to say that Chevy's option to send out patches OTA with his Simply Stunning ROM is a extremely cool feature though. That is about the only thing out there I found myself saying "I wish Sapphire did that". Then again it's so good out of the box there are not too many updates needed :D Other than that some of the other features I came across haven't phased me.

No argument that all the roms bring different things to the table. I also tried most of them before settling on Sapphire. I really like this particular community and the amazing support we get (and hopefully as our experience grows, give, as well). It goes beyond just the simple rom, and while I know the other roms have excellent communities around them, as well, I really feel at home here with Sapphire. :) That's not to say I wasn't very impressed with other roms. Chevy's SS is absolutely fantastic, but, at the end of the day, you choose one and go with it. :) I chose this community.

As for themes, I'm not a big fan personally, BUT, I decided to give the Droid X theme a shot just out of curiosity. I actually decided I liked it so much that I've been using it ever sense. I'd really miss it now if I went back to stock. LOL!

I have the opposite issue...i can never just settle on a theme lol

I am now back to Sapphire  I restored my stock backup and may give the Droid X theme a go being how you've enjoyed it so much!

the volume rocker for changing tracks NEEDS to get fixed. at this point its like unusable for me. I find myself scared to change the damn volume for fear of getting caught in a song skip glitch. can you at LEAST add the option to disable it? It isnt ideal to have it default as just sometimes when i go to change the volume quickly, like hold down the volume rockers, it skips, and i dont want it to do that.
