Home ++ (another home replacement)

Anyone notice different transitions with the most recent update? I just installed it about 10 minutes ago.

I notice it opens maybe a half second longer to open apps but I like the way it fades in when you open it. It also gets to the home screen faster

yeah i noticed that too but i rarely use the app menu so it doesn't bother me much.

Lol, yeah would have loves to see an ACC championship but there's always next year.

Anyway, so far I'm liking the new update tonight. New animations are a nice touch. I went ahead and checked persistent mode, so far haven't had any problems. Love how cast this developer is pumping out updates.

7 Screens

I am using all 7 screens now. It works far better than pulling up apps and drawers.

One and a half screens are games. One screen is for people I call most - you can put a telephone icon up (with picture if they have one) for each person and you click and it dials instantly. One for stocks and weather. One for a calander, and music apps. One for pics of my 2 kids and apps that I use to control the phone with some misc stuff... like k-9, app killer etc... and the main screen has a big clock at the top and 12 main apps like dolphin, market, wifi on off, battery meter, led light, visual voicemail, etc..

Now I need 10 screens.

I'm still rockin' 4... haven't braved the 'new' screens yet.... maybe it's time to re organize :)

looks like another update was just released in the past few hours.

Update 0.8.0.7 (Home++ by Intuitit)

from the developers site
Update 0.8.0.7

posted 3 hours agoDec 7, 2009 8:46 PM by Bo Wang [ updated 3 hours agoDec 7, 2009 8:54 PM ] Something is dropped; now is loading slower. The new loading mechanism introduced in 0.8.0.6 is proved to be less stable. So, before any further improvements come out, I'll keep the older safer slower way and make persistent mode an option.
Enabling persistent mode in preferences will keep Home++ in memory thus makes your returning much faster. On the other hand, it *may* reduce the overall system performance. So, please use this with caution; it's just a temporary solution.

Other things:

  • Zooming animation when starting applications (Android 2.0 only).
  • Clocks (flip widget and text in the power strip) follow the system 24-hour format setting.
  • Wifi icon issue.
  • Workspace looping switch. Now you can turn it off in screen preferences.
  • Reset default screen, also in screen preferences.
Thank you all for your support! I'm about to sleep and will reply to your mails later.

My home++ seems to be allergic to dockrunner. It constantly fc's when I go back to the home screen while dockrunner is running. Anybody else with this issue?

Well, I'm getting FC alot more than ever before. Still not sure what the problem maybe. I'm not running dock runner but I do have it installed. Dunno...

the transition is different for me on any app icon i click on... that's what i was trying to say. not just the app drawer/menu

I was actually talking about Martin is talking about and I think you could actually change that in the prefences

Mine wouldn't open dockrunner, nor will it switch to multimedia mode when I put it into the dock. I ended up having to factory reset and am just going to stick with the stock Home screen for now. I need the dock to work consistently. I can't seem to find others who are having the same issue as me though.

Stability for me just took a nose dive with the past few updates tonight.

Seems the weather widgets app is now an issue as well. Starting to wonder if there is some sort of conflict between the two.

It doesn't work if you try to use your GPS location. If you type in a zip it works.

Home++ is really nice.

thats weird i havent gotten a single fc and dockrunner is working fine since the update.
