Home ++ (another home replacement)

How are you accessing the configurations for Home++? I can't find it anywhere. Thanks, in advance.

Press the menu button and choose preferences.

Anyone know if there's a way to disable wallpaper looping or know if he'll implement that feature? Most of my wallpapers will chop.

I know he's got an option to disable wallpaper scroll. Preferences --> Screen Preferences --> Wallpaper Scroll

That will keep your wallpaper stationary.

To prevent chop, you want a wallpaper with 480 x 854 px dimensions.

If anyone is having a problem with force closes, make sure "Orientation" is unchecked under Preferences --> Screen Preferences -->> Orientation.

For some reason on my phone it causes it to Force close about once every 2-5 minutes. I may have a conflict with one of my widgets, but when I unchecked Orientation, all Force Closes stopped.

This version seems to have more forced closes. I changed the orientation to off because when I put it in the dock last night it did an FC.

While this is a terrific application it seems that the latest beta is buggier than the first. Some of the icons on the bottom like battery can't be pressed. I am getting more FC's.

A question for those out there? What do you do with more than 4 screens???

Would you put games on one, apps on another, etc...? Or would that slow the Droid to a crawl?

to me over 4 is a little excessive. if you need 7 pages of apps you might as well just bring up all the app menus lol

what you can do is fill it up with widgets and shortcuts though

(Hiijack)
Do widgets or other icons on the home screens have ANYTHING to do with battery power consumption or memory?

they can especially if there constantly pulling information off the internet like weather/facebook/sports ....ETC

good to know, thanks! I have only the powecontrol, youtube, battery, MotoTorch widgets up with 5 screens and it seems very smooth. I get a little lag once in a while but nothing compared to the lag i got from the "dumb" phone I just got out of :)

My question is this... the pull down with apps is a pain to find stuff in.

Why not put games on one screen, apps on another, etc...

Will THAT slow down the Droid?

The pull down is alphabetical. Shouldn't be too hard to find things there.

I have 5 screens used up. I have the home screen, an app screen of my most used, a widget screen, a picture frame screen with 4 pics and one open screen I am sure I'll fill up with something soon enough... so I am set to 5 but only using 4 for now.

I have not had any problems with my droid slowing down from app shortcuts on any amount of pages. Widgets however will slow down your droid if you are using too many that are constantly updating. Basically what you need to understand is that the droid will not allow its user to slow it down so much that it can not still control various aspects of global finance and government. (see force close). The droid have become self aware and are now running most of the world. so please have fun with it and enjoy its many features but do NOT stand in its way.
Hope this helps!

So I downloaded the new home ++ the updates are amazing you can now have seven screens. They fixed the boackground res. Have to say I love this now

Does anyone find Home++ to kill battery life a bit?

Its the last thing I remember installing and my battery life started to tank. Down to 30% in 9 hours of just texting -- no talk time and no browsing (or very minimal).

It doesnt take up any more battery life - I've been watching. Of course the more widgets you put up will drain the battery faster and you have more screens.

I set up 7 screens and am in the process of putting games on one and separating all the apps. Having an app link doesnt slow anything down.
