[Home Replacement App] Sweeter Home public Beta is out!!

Also, one of the themes has the screens scroll up and down instead of left and right. When you scrolled up it was all the apps on one page. But if you swipe your finger to change back to the home screen it wouldn't flip back unless it was on an unused space. In other words, in the regular app drawer you can swipe anywhere to scroll...not on that. Very crappy.

Like he said, you need actual space to drag on. OR just hit the back button. The screens are aligned in a + formation with 5 screens. So ALL the themes can scroll up and down from the middle screen.

I am not sure what happened BUT since last night when I removed my battery (battery drained with light usage 3 times) I am getting the red eye lock whenever I try to turn my Droid on.

I have to go into safe mode and un-install SweetHome in order to get my Droid to power on when I press the power button...

Can anyone help me with this???

I like this home app and would hate, hate, hate, to loose its options.

Help Please

submit a bug report, the dev REALLY needs these to fix that issue. That's my recommendation.

Already done.
Posted on their forum, sent all my log files.
Hope to hear back soon.

Does this release fixed the red eye freeze?

Thanks
NO idea. That is a very strange and random bug. As of now no-one has provided a logcat, so if it's fixed it'll be by coincidence... :(

Maybe we can track down that email?

One thing I've noticed is that my power widget doesn't toggle the lights correctly when I'm hitting the buttons. And even though I copied the widget over to my landscape (so all the properties are the same) they show different settings on either view. My other widgets seem to be working fine though.
(And power is not a configurable widget)

New version seems to be a bit more stable for me overall though. No crashes so far, about to do some serious editing so we'll see how it holds up. Good job so far! :)

Downloaded for the first time this morning and got no work done today because I was learning how to work this thing.

Only problem I am having is that my account I created by phone wont log in on the web and the one I created via the web I cant log into on the phone.... Not sure what is up there. I'll try one more account.

BTW is there a way to log out or create a new ID other than reinstalling sweeter home?

Other than that...this thing is like freakin crack to play with.

Hell of a job Dev.

OH, one more ?... is it possible to hide the status bar somehow like in Home++?

+1

yeah I want that too. I think they said its on the to-do list or something....

If you haven't tried out the Treking theme by Genei09 it is AWESOME. He did a crazy cool Star trek theme. It has an amazing setup and super user friendly design. I am very very very pleased and excited to show my friends.

to be honest guys, i tried the sweeter home that came out before it was in the market, and then i tried the preview 1 today, and i gotta say.......they completely sucked ass!! they are so buggy and the premarket one had a theme in it that had people's phone numbers in the contact list of the theme!! it was complete with names and everything! i clicked on one and it made a phone call...i got a call back about 15 minutes later but didnt answer. thats pretty bad :( and preview 1 was a little more polished but it still sucked. i would never ever degrade my beautiful Droid's homescreen interface with something that looks and feels so outdated and nonfunctional.....
thats my opinion of course so dont take that too personal

Well you could make your own theme with this which is the fun part, there's also a lot of themes to try out if you got the time :)

Some are good, and some aren't, heh

Quick workaround for the image bug is to set the image up and back out to edit mode. Copy the image, delete it, then paste. Until it's fixed. I shoulda caught this one in the private build so apologies. It's logged with the dev.

Tis really isnt as much of a home replacement app as it is a home replacement dev studio.

Each "theme" created by it is more like a home replacement.

^^ Exactly

I've been touting it as a home replacement creation tool

To add to that... as soon as they enable hiding the notification bar and using bettercut on springboard icons you will be able to CREATE Home++ using Sweeterhome.

How cool is that? I went from 3 weeks ago being very happy that you could put something like Home++ on this thing and totally change how your phone looks and works to 3 days ago finding out I was (very nearly) able to MAKE Home++ If I wanted to.

Heck this can almost, in a round about way, replace better cut as well.

In reality you CAN make a powerstrip already (somewhat) I do not use the scrolling funtion in home++, nor the taskbar. With a few picture boxes and some invisible spring boards, you could make something that looks as good (if not better) than a locked home++ launcher, and have the same capabilities and more with sping boards.

well as much as I hated to, I had to uninstall today. Major issues all day. every screen switch took 15 seconds or more. I couldn't run navigation and a music app together without a forced close. I couldn't make a call. I must have had 15 fc's today.

i love sw2 (and the dev) and really want to use it but I need my droid to work as it should. I'll hold out hope for the non beta release. until then it's back to stock for me.
