How to download roms from your phone and play games

I get to where you click dl then it goes to another screen then I see all kinds of letter, symbols, and numbers. Then after the page loads, nothing else happens

Im having the same problem. Anyone have a solution?
long-press the link and select "save link". the browser is trying to read the file by opening it in a browser session.

Either Im d'loading the wrong roms or something, but I cant get this to work. I got the Nesoid emulator. I tried downloading a SNES game and when I try to load the rom there is nothing found. Yes, I have Astro, yes, Im following to a T the instructions. Nothing ever works for me.

edit - I did what you said, long pressed. It downloaded a txt file, not the 7z file. Cant load the txt file into Nesoid

did you try renaming the txt file to something nesoid can read? none of my roms are zipped. they're all unzipped (.nes, .snes, etc.)

Which system does Nesoid play? Nes, SNES, GBA? Like I said, maybe Im dloading the wrong type of rom. I even loaded the extracted folder manually and when I try to load a rom on the phone it says the folder is empty. But in Astro there are clearly 4 or 5 files.

They're explained in the title, app description

NESOID - Nintendo Entertainment System (hence the NES - OID) .nes
SNESOID - Super Nintendo (SNES - OID) . smc
GEAROID - Game Gear/Sega Master System (GEAR - OID) .bin
GENSOID - Sega Genesis (GEN - OID) .bin (?)
GBCOID - Gameboy Color (GBC - OID) .gbc (?)
GAMEBOID - Gameboy Advance (GAME - OID) .gba

All is good and dandy until I go to freeroms.com and try to download a rom. My browser just loads this crazy stuff and nothing downloads. Help please!

Sounds kinda "advertising my own site"ish to me....

With all the links in the OP.

I mentioned freerom's site because it was the easiest site for me to get roms. There are many more rom sites that may be easier for others. Just have to look around the internet and experiment with different sites.

Couple problems:

I DLd SNESOID Lite to try it out.
I used my computer and DL's 2 ROMS. One is F-Zero. I had to unzip it and drop all the files (like 20 of them) into the ROMs folder I made on my SD card. I then directed the emulator to the first item in the list and it ran. Was it just luck that the first one in the list was the right one?

Also, can the keys be changed in the full version? The steering is on the D-pad and the gas pedal is the P key. Kind of close together.

How do you know what buttons to use with each game?

there is only one file with SNES (actually any ROM) and that is the *.SMC files. if you only downloaded two ROMs and ended up with 20 files, you probably downloaded some maleware too.

the keys can be changed in each full -OID version.

i downloaded namco museum for gba off of coolroms and when i try to extract the zip with astro it gives me a message saying "error listing files from zip file Namco Museum..." and does nothing?
i have other games for my gameboid emulator i got off my computer but getting this to work would be very nice.
any suggestions?

you guys should really be doing ROM management from a desktop. it's easier overall and you'll be happier with the results.

problem is i have the issue with mounting and connecting to vista... so in order to use my computer i have to remove my card, which is a big inconvenience

which would you rather be inconvienced with? dealing with ROMs that you can't download (long wait, unknown file, renaming, moving, etc), or just sticking your stick in a reader for a few minutes and a quick file transfer?

btw, have you posted your issues with vista?

I not really familiar with the gba emulator but I use the snesoid emulator and it can look into the zipped files and I never have to mess with them. I'm assuming that since the emulators are by the same author that the gba can use .zip files as well.
