1X does indeed have a limited lifetime. Right now, VZW manages data load over the EVDO network, and voice over 1X. Once simultaneous voice and data are enabled on CDMA, the 1X network will be unnecessary except for voice only feature phones.

Damnit, I wonder how much better the incredible HD will be vs the DX that I'm getting today. Fark, I haven't even gotten my first smartphone yet and i'm already envious and jealous of something better coming out to replace it. This is not a good sign for my OCD and pocketbook....

Never suggested it didn't have an end of life just pointing out it's still there.

unless your reading something i missed he was only aware of a LTE version and is also referring to the tweet he made about the LTE version which means what he said had NOTHING to do with the phone we are all waiting for on the 23rd. Period.

Even if I ordered via phone? This is the first time i've gotten a phone over the phone, I've just gone to the VZW store over the years.

Here is what I think. Obviously Miami was in contact with VZW at 10:30 AM this morning. He has his droid with him at work so he could easily update us saying that its "not coming tomorrow", but I believe he has received good news and he is waiting till he gets home so he can create a new thread telling us it's coming and so he can add in pictures and specs.

NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS

he told me via PM he was going to talk to his contacts and go check out the galaxy tab and most likely create the thread with his new toy.. straight from the man.. so i agree.. he hasnt said anything bad yet so thats good enough for me..

It may not be. I have the X and love it but am waiting to see if this device is real. I have always been partial to HTC, going back to the 6700, 6800, 6900. Although the X is quite possibly the best smartphone I've had when it comes to being a telephone. I get reception in areas that I never dreamed I could.

Come on guys. Verizon has said it already. By 2013 96% of the nation will have LTE service. So we will have 3g till at least 2015... Now about the dinc hd being 3g/lte. Why would Verizon hold off till about march to release the dinc hd. thats 3 months from now? thats bad business. 3g dinc hd this month and lte dinc hd march 2011. it just seems right. and the dude that tweeted everyone with the rumor has also told people that HTC will have an lte phone for jan, feb, mar and april. but Verizon says no lte phones till March? hmmm.
