HTC Thunderbolt AKA Droid IncredibleHD Leaked Pictures

Old news, would have made a splash in 2010 alongside the EVO...now with the dual core wave of phones on the horizon it would make no sense to buy a LTE phone that isn't dual core.

Also seems to be missing the HDMI out, I'd have to say I may just wait until the honeycomb phones ship hoping for a higher res screen and dual core. The DX should hold me over until then but I still have 2 more upgrades so it'll be hard to wait.

You know, it's not dual core or GTFO. I mean, not everyone has 8 cores in their computers :P

Agreed....Everyone has their needs....and they are different. Otherwise we'd all have the same phone.

All within a specified context, but in the realm of "smartphones" i'm not sure why a consumer buying an LTE phone would sell themselves short of the dual core technology. I certainly don't have 8 cores in my laptop but if I were buying one tomorrow and they were offering 8 cores for my money, i definitely wouldn't turn that down. Color me unimpressed but there isn't enough "wow" in this device worthy of upgrading. 4.5 inch dual core will be an eye opener in 2011. Just my perspective.

Don't get me wrong. I too am going to wait for Dual core since it's so close. I was merely pointing out the fact that we all don't want the same thing for one reason or another.

I don't know guys, I have actually been pretty envious of the Evo for quite awhile now. Yeah, pretty much since I first saw it. I know there are some newer better things coming out in the future so I may wait a bit. However there is one thing to think about, the Evo already has well developed roms etc. for it. And since I have so many options with my D1, I'm kind of partial to that ability. But we shall see...

well i think of it this way.

say i was on sprint(god forbid), and i'd gotten the EVO. id be kicking myself now because the evo shift is coming and it has a hardware keyboard<3. now in the meantime, i'd have still enjoyed the EVO because its shiny and new, but the one thing i wanted i couldve had if i had patience.

ive been racking my brain about the choice between waiting on moto's slider and grabbing the thunderbolt, but i guess ill be able to make my decision come CES.

kickstands a nice touch, though.

You make a good point for some people. I originally felt like i had to have a keyboard. But I rarely use it because I have such good luck with the on screen keyboard. A couple other things someone else pointed out, the charging port is on the wrong side for the kickstand! Also, the speaker is behind the kickstand which could make for a "tin-ny" sound and/or muffle the sound.

Also, why do people keep insisting on calling it the the "Incredible HD"? The name for it is Thunderbolt, why not call it that?

I do think the above poster made a great point, I probably would be happier with waiting for another phone. Thank you for putting it in perspective. I guess I have been jealous and extremely envious of the Evo, because other than Sprint, it has been the absolute best phone on the market.

I can't believe that the speculation about 4G plans have not started, or that no leaked information/internal documents have surfaced. How will BigRed handle people with LTE phones in areas with no coverage? $40? $50? 2GB? 5GB Unlimited? Still $30 for 3G until you have LTE coverage?

Thunderbolt vs LG Star hmmm...I've waited this long another week wont kill me, ill wait for a release date, official specs, pricing, videos and commentary among those who play test it. The LG star does look promising, anyone know if either LG or HTC phones should be as locked down as motos phones? H7ope not

I dislike the inconsistency of the hardware buttons beneath the screen. The first, third, and fourth buttons are all graphic icons, but the second button is text --the word "menu". That's ugly design.

The speaker being hidden by the kickstand concerns me a little. Would the sound be muffled if the kickstand isn't open? One of my frustrations with the DX is poor speaker placement. With the speaker on the back, the audio is always directed away from me, so it's not loud or clear. And when I lay the phone down the audio is seriously cut and muffled. They finally figured out that the there should be a microphone on the same side as the camera for video recording, why haven't they figured out that a speaker should be front-facing?

The rest of the phone looks nice. I like the flush camera (no hump).

I'm also puzzled why VZW dragged their feet on releasing this phone when they knew that a bunch of dual-core phones would debut around the same time.
