HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

My company is about to switch our 80 lines or so over to Verizon. We innocently asked our sales rep today when the Tbold would be out and he said the rumors are it will be out before the Iphone.

There is that other post in this thread that talks about the MAP coming out on 1/21 and there is history of phones coming out 6 days after MAP comes out. That is consistent with what our rep said.

In the end, nobody seems to know for sure. Nobody that posts on forums, that is.

I imagine Apple has a one month window in which the iPhone4 will be the only new top-end device. So either 2 weeks before, or after the iPhone is my guess. So either this week or a month from now.

Did you watch any of the football yesterday? iPhone ads everywhere, not even a mention of HTC Thunderbolt... if they release it with no ads it will flop when compared to the iPhone.

You know, I did notice exactly what you are describing. Many iPhone/Verizon commercials and not a peep on the Thunderbolt. IFRC, there were also some ads on the 4G LTE network, but no mention of the first phone! Maybe I'm making that part up.

Motorola Xoom and HTC Thunderbolt ads will start during the Super Bowl. So I suppose end of February is a good time for release.

I haven't had tons of time to research, considering I am at work and all, but I did find this link. Funny thing is that Verizon isn't on the list, so far at least, to have any superbowl ads.

Saw this a couple days ago on the TV, If this doesn't scream Thunderbolt I don't know what does, he literally has a thunderbolt in his hands lol. Too bad they don't actually say anything about it.

I'm guess it is like one of those ads that they don't show you all of it at first. Then when they are ready they tack on the 2nd part of the commercial. So in the future they would add some fancy camera angels of the thunderbolt or something after the kid chucks it through the air.

There's no doubt that they are referring to the Thunderbolt. I could definitely see that happening Serbeus.. or at least I can only hope.. and soon!! :icon_ banana:

Just left my local VZW store and the guy working told me to hold on cause its coming really, really, really soon so well see.... I cant wait. and also a plus
i saw a blown up picture of the 4g coverage in Orlando and heck yeah Ill be getting some oh yea I live about 35 miles or a lil more from the airport. I was surprised that, that one tower can cover that far out

I hope it's really soon. My husband and I are wanting to upgrade. He wants the iPhone (booo!) and I want the Thunderbolt. But we also have the option of buying an android and getting one free and getting a $9.99 credit per month on the 2nd line for the duration of a 2 year contract if we sign up by Jan 30th...which is quite a savings! So I'm really crossing my fingers that it's this week, but then again seems unlikely with the lack of advertisement. :-/

Yea, they covered 1/3 of their subscribers at launch. LTE, especially being 700MHz gives great building penetration and can reach miles away (so I've heard).

I'm actually going back and forth between this and the Droid Bionic. Only thing I'm concerned about is the screen quality and battery life. Thats more important to me than dual core and 4G.
