HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Just answering the guy's question about whether or not he should get Droid while waiting. There's not really any new news on the Thunderbolt.... I think we'll see LTE pricing for phones before we see the Thunderbolt released. Personally 250 seems a lil high too me. I wonder how much they'll charge for their dual core phones once they start releasing them. 300?

I thought $249 for the TB seemed too high also. A lot of it is technology that has been around for awhile now! I guess they are charging extra for the bundled 32GB microSD card, and probably for the stigma of being the first LTE phone on Verizon too. I would have liked $199, but looks like VZW will be sticking it to me, this time.

Its probably a safe bet that the Bionic could be as much as $300 when it comes out because of the dual core + LTE. It certainly won't be any lower than $250 if that's what the TB will be selling for at the same time.

Saw somebody posted this in another forum...something to think about.

"Just throwing this out there. The MAP document leak shows both the Droid Pro and the Droid2 Global as getting their MAP set on 11/3/10. Those phones both launched on 11/9/10, less than a week later. I'm not saying that the Xoom and the TBolt will launch within a week, but I think we could be closer to launch than late February-early March. Maybe the February 14th rumors will hold up? Hopefully we see them sooner rather than later.

EDIT: Those phones both launched 6 days after having their MAP set. Incidentally, 6 days after yesterday's MAP date for the Thunderbolt is Thursday. Verizon launches phones on Thursday. Just sayin' "

Fortunately if you purchased a phone right up until January 15th you still get 30 days. In regards to the launch date, everything I have read online, CSR at Verizon and others I have talked with say training is going fast and furious and the expected launch time is right in line with the iPhone.

It ain't going to be March that's for sure.

I'm a regular reader here, but I had to post when I saw this. That post was mine. Lets hope that my intuitive powers and research bear some fruit. If they do, I'm taking a vacation day Thursday.dancedroid
