HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

See, a 5GB limit I can stomach considering I'm on WiFi majority of the time. But $50 is a little too much for me. I'm sure hoping rumors are true and the Droid X2 and Droid 3 are 3G. Suppose people complaining the iPhone wont be LTE till the 6th generation feel better now. lol. Seriously though, that's a little much considering its capped.

How many release dates do I have to NAIL to be considered a "reliable source"??? I called the iPhone being the week after the SB, on this thread I called for 1 month of vPhone exclusivity. (Jan 27th - February 24th)

I actually have a connect at the VZW HQ in Loudoun County, VA. I used to do a lot of work with him while I was lining up contracts with the Brambleton Town Center in Ashburn. So far everything he's told me has been correct.

Maybe, I'll give him a ring today and ask about the 4g pricing, although last time I asked he told me it was still up in the air.

Please do call him. I'm fine with not knowing the concrete release date for a little while, the thing I'm most interested in is data pak pricing on the phone. That'll make or break the deal for me

$50/month 5gb. +$15 per additional gb.

That's the word from VA, anyway.

That's outrageous

And Verizon plans on forcing customer in non 4G markets to get 4G plans even though they could be 1-2 years out. No thanks.

As for the release date, accessories can come before or after, Best Buy has the worst selection, IF we had a screen shot of a Verizon store showing accessories on 2/19, THEN, I would agree the date is a couple weeks later.

Lets see screen shots from Verizon on accessories and release dates. The iPhone needs no marketing, no help, no pushing and shoving it will sell to those dumb enough to buy a phone that is going to be replaced 4 months later.

UNC, since I already sold off my tech and the flip is driving me nuts, how sure is he?

On the vPhone exclusivity it's more like 2 weeks and not a month, not to nit pick, but its not launching until the 10th and that's 13 days after your projected date and if the TB is launching on the 24, thats 13 days past the vPhone date.

Are you sure your friend was right about the pricing, or maybe confused? Because it seems the 4G modems are priced that way. Kinda strange for smartphones to be the same way.

I'm guessing those prices might be inaccurate, then again Verizon apparently hasn't finalized pricing internally either. So anything goes.

i dont know how many times i got to post this... 4g on the THUNDERBOLT will cost a extra 10 or 15 bucks a month kinda like what sprint is doing!

regarding 4G

So how long before everyone gets 4G? i mean i wanna jump on a 4G phone but there ain't none here in VA.:icon_eek:. Some people say within the next 5 years! naw i think that's too long right??

if so great, my friend keeps insisting that the 4G data packages for the phones will be the same price as the modems, which doesn't make much sense.

Sure it's the same network and data, but two completely different units and functions, seems outrageous for 4G to cost $50 more for a phone as compared to mobile internet for a laptop

pretty sure kparks is dead on, I was talking with a Best Buy employee and I remember her saying it was and extra $10 a month

So Verizion is going to do the same as does Sprint with the EVO, and make us pay a extra $10 fee just to have a phone that is 4G capable, reguardless if you didn't live in an area with 4G? That would be a deal breaker for me. I pay enough already as it is.

He said these are the 4g rates circulating his office. His office handles business accounts though, so take it for what its worth.
I almost forgot, he also said 3g is "unlimited" on the $50 plan, so there's some news to get your droids dancing!

Your last point is dead on though, he clearly told me that these were the prices floating in his office, and they are "liquid until a release date is set" (for the tb).

I really don't see them forcing you to pay for the extra 4G if you don't want it and even more so if it is not available in your area. Just doesn't seem like a good business strategy.

edit: does sprint force customers to buy 4G data if they have a 4G capable phone?
