HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

How about this?

Best Buy gets the TB on February 14th (according to new screen shots matching the serial numbers and UPC codes). They will apparently not be getting the VZW iPhone, so there will be no competition there between the 2 phones. It also gives a little credence to the Best Buy "exclusivity" rumors. Then VZW actually starts selling it on the 24th, to give the iPhone a little time to itself in their stores, and be on 14-day return policy deadline.

Damnit!!!!!!!!! I will have to buy from best buy on the 14th, return it on the 23rd, then buy it again at vzw store on the 24th since I want 1yr contract.

For what it is worth... just called Verizon to get premium texting blocked on my MIL's phone ($120 later on my bill... grrr....).

The gentleman I spoke to said that he has heard that the unlim data pricing will be the same ($30) regardless of 3G/4G. I would be very surprised if that is the case. He also told me when he went to the "demo" of the 4G in Charlotte last month they were tethering a bunch of XBox 360s and it was seamless - like they were hard wire connected.

So how many here are going to pick this device up? Or are you going to wait. Personally I'm on the fence. I want the Thunderbolt and know when it's coming for sure, but want the Incredible HD/HTC Scorpion even more - it fits my needs a little better. I thought that phone wouldn't come till June/July, but sounds like it could come as early as late March/early April. So I'm hoping to hear more. Anyone else on the same boat.
For me, it depends 100% on data pricing. Anything over 35 a month is a no no, and i'll just wait for the X2 or the incredible2.
but if it is 30 or 35 a month, I fully expect to own this awesome device!!:icon_ banana:

Same here dude... I MIGHT consider $40 a month, but I think that is too high too. And anything over $40 is just plain ridiculous.... come on verizon, please have some sense here and give us reasonable prices, and if you don't... incredible 2/HD here i come since it is rumored to be 3g only

my question is is the thunderrbolt the device miami was talking about since november? or is the incredible that is forthcoming the device? certainly miami has seen the leaked pics of the thunderbolt and unless they look identical it must be a seprate device?

The device Miami was talking about and testing back in November was a 3G version of the then-called Incredible HD/Mecha. That device was scrapped in late November/early December in favor of a 4G version, hence the delay until late Feb. for what we now know as the Thunderbolt (mostly the same hardware, polished and with an LTE radio). The Incredible that is forthcoming (in late March/early April?) is known as the Incredible 2 right now (will it go by HD, who knows?), and it is an updated version of the original, supposedly with a bigger screen. Regardless, it is a different device than the one that was discussed back then.

Some guy on youtube is unboxing it!!!!!!

Awesome find! Things to take from the video:

-Improved 8MP camera over Inc and EVO, better in low light and motion (I have been wondering if it would be the same camera or a better one)
-TB beat Moto Bionic in both quadrant standard and neo core gaming scores (for what it's worth at this point, as we know Bionic is not finished)
-Screen looked pretty darn good, brighter colors than older HTC phones
-Device seemed very fast and snappy
-Built-in Skype (tied to phone book, not just an app.)
-Can simultaneously talk and use data on both 3G and 4G (a VZW first)
-40GB of storage out of the box! (Bye bye iPod touch?)

I don't think the phone would get released at best buy before it would get released from verizon stores. That just wouldn't make any sense, either way we would have to be seeing something about pre-order and prices for plans.n

If Skype doesnt work when the TB comes out, does that mean u wont be able to video chat or does android have face time (what the Iphone 4 uses) i think thats what its called.
