HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

my question is is the thunderrbolt the device miami was talking about since november? or is the incredible that is forthcoming the device? certainly miami has seen the leaked pics of the thunderbolt and unless they look identical it must be a seprate device?

The device Miami was talking about and testing back in November was a 3G version of the then-called Incredible HD/Mecha. That device was scrapped in late November/early December in favor of a 4G version, hence the delay until late Feb. for what we now know as the Thunderbolt (mostly the same hardware, polished and with an LTE radio). The Incredible that is forthcoming (in late March/early April?) is known as the Incredible 2 right now (will it go by HD, who knows?), and it is an updated version of the original, supposedly with a bigger screen. Regardless, it is a different device than the one that was discussed back then.

oh ok thanks. i just remembered that miami also said the device he had was going to be released with a 1.2 or 1.5 second gen snapdragon and i read the inc 2 would have a 1.2.

Back then, we expected the IncHD/Mecha to have a 1.2 gig, possibly even a 1.5 gig, but obviously it is only a 1 gig and those rumors did not pan out. I would speculate that the Inc2 will have the same 1 gig processor as the TB, but I suppose 1.2 is possible too. Where did you hear about 1.2 gig on the Inc2? Can you post a link?

I'm not elligible for a NE2, but I can't wait another 12 months with my OG Droid.

Around $600. How far are you in your contract? If you have 12+ months already, you can upgrade using the annual upgrade (assuming you're the primary line).

of course. it's a verizon phone, and the first 4G phone on top of that. why wouldn't they?

VZW stores and retailers will be selling on 15th. Just to laugh in the face of those people who decided to get the iPhone 3G.
