not sure what to do is it better to pre-order the TB through Wirefly or wait till verizon has it for pre-order? what do you would be fast to get?
Wirefly is cheaper, so I'd go for Wirefly regardless of when it ships.
Wirefly has an ETF, that I just found out. I'd rather pay more and only pay VZW's etf if I had to not both.

Not to mention you get to walk out of the store with it in your hands.

Ah true, I don't have any phone at the moment, so I wouldn't be dealing with that.

Best Buy will have to price match 250.00 from verizon won't they, I plan on heading down to Best Buy with Print out of Price Match guarentee and verizon's price

there will not be a verizon preorder on this phone. I have spoken to several telesales reps, and local ones too. Sucks I know, but check with your local store, they might be having a midnight release. Wirefly isnt bad, as long as you know they have their own ETF in addition to big red's.

this dont apply to me if im buying the phone without no contract right?

$199 2 year contract with wirefly, and TWO ETF's . Big Red's $350 + Wirefly's $350 = $700. Be aware of this.

I took this from the terms and conditions on wirefly's site when going through checkout, i looked everywhere else to find something about other etf's but cant. Does anyone else see something else?

What's the problem with rooting?

If this was my personal phone, there would be none.
However, I support our field use team.
Rooting voids the warranty as you know, and if a remote user needs a warranty or repair on their phone, I don't want to put them in a bad spot.

I will not root a basic user's phone....so I can't treat mine any different.

If a user is out of state, I can't just say "bring it by so I can remove root access" before you take it in for warranty.

What I want to know is if I order this from Wirefly and lets say the screen dies on me 3 months later. Would I have to send it back to wirefly for the warranty replacement or could I go in to the local verizon store?

I had the touch function of my Droid 1 stop working and was able to go in to the store and walk out with a refurb unit minutes later. That ability is something that I do not want to loose.

you could use big red's insurance no problem. Wirefly is just the folks who sold you the phone. On that note, ive had a gread expeience with squaretrade. Only a $50 dollar deductible. Plus apple care and it was pretty hard to beat. But im pretty hard on my phones so it was worth the cost. I ended up getting my 3gs replaced 3 times, and two of those times should have been non-warranty replacements. They didnt charge me a dime tho. I will miss apple's stellar customer service...

Stop me if I'm wrong, but if the screen dies I think that's considered a hardware problem and would be handled under the manufacturers warranty, not the VZW partner insurance plan. Insurance covers non-warranty issues.

That said, I'll just point out that a lost phone is covered by the insurance.

A midnight release would be nice. That's about when i get out of work. Of course then i wouldn't be able to sleep knowing i have a new toy in the house.

So, I read all this release stuff on the 17th then why does VZ site still ask you to sign up and coming soon. Why not just say the 17th. I am skeptical
