[ROM] ICS pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre pre Alpha

Latest bit of testing. I put the pg 65 of the XDA kfazz build on the phone and ChevyNo-1 1.25Ghz lv kernel. ADB Pushed libaudio.so and libaudioflinger.so files to /system/lib. Chmod 644 on them and reboot. I then installed the 01132012 gapps and was able to get the phone to make a phone call with full voice audio. (ie I could hear them and they could hear me). BUT after I hung up the phone would switch to AP mode in the back ground and would not come back out without a reboot. I tried to kill com.android.phone and rild but neither would bring it out of the AP mode. Even Settings -> Wireless -> AP Mode (checkbox) on/off did not work.
For some reason I logcat would not run either and I'm not sure why that happened, so I couldn't really capture anything to look at unfortunately.

The D1 I have that is not activated and I used Talkatone and Gvoice everything works great as long as I have a Wifi connection. :)

So I think if we can figure out this why this is going into AP mode after a call and will not come back out we would at least have a Frankenbuild that we could actually use. I will keep trying more combinations of things to see if I can get something to work. I want to update to the 03042012 gapps to see if that makes any difference. (not sure if there were any changes to Phone.apk, etc) I honestly think it is something in the framework that is not releasing the call properly, but not positive.

I've Cloned CM9 repo but haven't gotten the updates from kfazz put in yet, but until I actually have some logs to see where the problems are I would be able to make any changes anyway. I am not a dev by any means nor do I play one on TV, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn once. hehe

Cush2push, any updates on your end or have you been busy with other things?

Just wanted to share what I've stumbled upon so far. Hope we can keep this going...

Excellent. That's exactly what kfazz was talking about in the last post he made. That he had a backup of a build that would work and handle calling, but after hanging up a reboot was the only fix to get the phone to function again. To be honest, that's good enough for me.

Any way to do that without adb?
I'm ready to do this when I get off work in an hour.
I too only have this droid so I have to have a working phone. But I will reboot 100 times a day to have ics. I simply don't care hahah

I'm gonna try your fix with an activated phone. I hear that some guy got his unactivated phone to work with talkatone and google voice. Without flashing any kernel. So I really want to try this on my phone :) hopefully it works and I can port miui v4 to the droid 1

I tried it on my droid.
Not a complete fix. It did give me audio, like music and phone sounds, but its super super quiet.
And phone calling works but they can't hear me.
I did not experience airplane mode when hanging up, so I don't know if I did something wrong.

Was it just the 2 files that you added?
Libaudio.so
Libaudioflinger.so

???

Yes only did those two files. Interesting that you are having different results. Did you flash the ChevyNo1 kernel I mentioned?

I did flash Beats Audio lib files that I found on XDA but it did not have any change in audio after that until I pushed the libaudio.so and libaudioflinger.so which Cush posted a few pages back. I will post the Beats Audio flash file to see if that can help anyone. I did notice better audio when on SD 10.1 RC3 using Beats so who knows. I saw Metalspring talking about Beats so I started doing some searching and came up with this flashable file.

File was too big so I had to look for the XDA Post and here it is...

Just experimenting to see if it makes any difference. As I stated though no change until pushing the libaudio from cush. On my un-activated phone I do have voice and audio working with the jan-05 build from kfazz and using Talkatone for calling over wifi.

I got some computers lying around. What type you looking for? I really want to get this ice cream on the og. Does that milestone alpha work? Cause supposedly sounds and some camera things work on that one. I know that milestone roms and d 1 roms are different but maybe you can take some coding from there to see if it works.

Cush,
Hope you were able to get your system back up and working. Just wanted to ask if you've made any head way on a D1 ICS build.

Thanks...
