Ics soak test has begun!!!!!!!!

How awesome would it be if Moto just trolled you all with the email. I bet the soak test email was sent out by one douchebag employee who's laughing his ass off at everyone who jumped back to 905 and are now whipping themselves in into a frothing tizzy over the poop-filled majesty of Gingerbread.

That is all.

Are you sure about being rooted. I can remember installing the leak .2233 and 1 of the things I had to do was unroot it. I ended up using voodoo to unroot and reroot. Everything else you said I believe to be correct.

Yes, being rooted will not cause the update to fail. However, if you've changed any system files or removed any system apps(bloatware) as a result of rooting, that's a different story. Moto doesn't want you to be rooted because there's always a potential for system file changes, and they don't want to ruin the results of the soak test by troubleshooting problems a user introduced because they aren't fully stock. As long as you haven't changed any system files, the update will work just fine.

Oh yeah, that's gotta be it, I mean what else could it possibly be? Getting trolled and butt laughing.:icon_eek:

You are right I installed 232 on my wife's phone with out rooting or anything and I did mine just like u said u did yours with root keeper

Now I have a question if we know what the ota will b and the leak is already out it only makes sense to just install it but I also know this will take the phone out of the ota loop but what I'm wondering is if there is an update later (ota) will that b put out like the other updates so the ones of us stuck can just simply do a manual install o and if this has already been asked or I missed a tread on it already my bad (sorry some people are rude and make S.A. comments like they are the forums God )

If I understand your question... once the release is out in the wild it will be checked against what is believed to be OTA ( the. 247 leak) and provided it matches..then those already running
. 247 should be already on the path. If for whatever reason. 247 is not the OTA, the HoB will be updated accordingly.
After the OTA is established, an FXZ file will be compiled.
This is the way I understand it..but I'm just that guy who talks random gibberish

So just download .247 and install just like I did 232 but do I have to fxz or will it just flash over like a regular ota would

If they don't push ICS soon, I'm going to have to look into loading a leaked version. My data has become nearly unusable. 80% of the time my phone will show connectivity, but as soon as I open anything requiring a data connection, it drops.

Had the same problem on my wifes phone. Loaded 232 (till ota) and no data drops.
