Increase Battery Life? You can help Team Liberty!

I blame myself for killing my first X. OC'ed into the grave. It locked up so I couldn't get the screen to turn on and got so hot in the short time it took me to take the case apart I thought it was going to burst into flames. It just didn't run right after that so sadly had to replace a great phone. Replacement is recertified but seems to run well. Don't think I will push the limits with this one.

My replacement, the one I have now, is "certified like new" and runs better than the prior:)

sorry if this is the wrong place but what do you rom makers do to change battery life?

I gotta agree.I got my DX certified like new phone cost me $99 instead of 599 i gotta say i have had not one problem what so ever with anything no rom problems anything.

If its not a problem it would be nice if more people stated if they were using a standard battery or not

So, did you ninjamorph/metamorph all of the red into the framework-res that comes with the battery patch? Or have you replaced the battery patch with a theme?
NOTE: the battery patch that is in the first post contains a yellow circular battery icon, and almost everything is yellow... if you've applied a theme after putting the battery patch on, you've completely removed the battery patch.

Is this for use with 1.5, or an earlier version?
The patch in the first post is for 1.5.

If people are having terrible battery life, I would hazard a guess its not the ROM...maybe the phone, battery, apps, or general use of the device...

I hate to keep doing this, but it seems needed...maybe Kejar can use my "non battery tweeked" DX as a measurement bar for battery life..

No battery saving apps like Juice Defender, not underclocked or undervolted in any way, only rooted and ROM`d running Liberty v1.5+Ultimate Droid+Launcher Pro+DreamLyfe.Sharpe...normal use is as follows:

5-10 less than 5 minute phone calls
2-5 more than 5 minute phone calls
10-25 text messages
1-5 MMS pic messages(friends havent learnt yet to not send this BS to me!)
1-2 hours of MP3 playback via Audio cable to car stereo on drive to/from work
30 minutes of Droid Forum surfing while at work on breaks
Multiple checks of time since I dont wear a watch anymore.
All E-mail syncing is set to manual update
Beautiful Weather is set to every 12 hours unless manual update
No other Social Widgets polling
WiFi only when at home %85 of the time...WiFi off when away from home

This screencap was done today, and still was sitting on %20...surely could have went another 3-5 hours, but I needed to move some stuff via USB, so I had to plug in...

Im at 70% @ 21hrs with a clean install and the reboot patch. I do use an extended battery but this is still unusually good life for my phone by a mile. This time around I didn't use any battery apps (juice defender) and it has been phenomenal. I agree with the post above that the individual mix of apps one chooses to run may play a larger role than the rom itself.

Must be my phone??

I can't seem to get a straight answer. My wife's stock DX is getting a day +. Me with similar usage as above (using Tasker to manager GPS, wifi, etc) is lucky to get a day AND that's with the Seidio 2600 mAh extended battery!!

I'm beginning to think it's the actual device. My display time is consistently 30% of usage (even set to 20% brightness) and the Android OS is high too!

Buying System Panel to see if I can tell what's going on, but may head down to Vzw to see about swapping out. I can't tune this anymore than it is! And with a 2600 mAh battery I should be 2 days at least!

I would start by having that battery checked...it may not be quite as good as it should be.

Also, did you reset Battery Stats when you swapped in the new Extended Battery? I know this might sound weird, but smarter men than me have shown it to be true, whenever you swap from the stock 1500mAh battery to the Extended Battery, you need to clear Battery Stats for the phone since it has been calibrated for the smaller capacity stock battery and not the larger capacity extended battery.

If you are running Liberty, then you can go to Liberty Settings and click Spare Parts, in there you can see a ton of information as to what is hogging your battery life...

Hope this helps...bear in mind my phone may be a freak of nature...

This is probably a stupid question.....but ill ask anyway. Will this work for the D2 because id love to help the team out in any way i can. Lemme know if it will and if it does i will totally do it.
