Incredible's battery life is not incredible

So far, I've been relatively unimpressed with phones battery life after installing the Seidio 1750 mah battery. If there is an improvement, it's miniscule in my case.

Same here! I am on day 3 of using my seidio 1750 mah battery and I do not see a great improvement. I have charged 3 times now. Took phone of charger at 6:45am and at 7 I am already down to 94% without even using the phone!!!! wtf! I hope it improves after each charge like the package says!

I'm skeptical.

how to train your battery

A Verizon worker told me that the battery in the HTC is like one in a new laptop - when you first get it, you should let the battery drain completely until the phone dies, then charge it completely, then let it drain completely, etc. 3 times - it will 'train' the battery to the maximum life.

ive been draining it pretty low for a few days..

yesterday, woke up, took it off charge, went to work, couple calls here n there, bunch of txt messages, reading email.. got home still had 70% battery left.. 8hrs + and moderate usage and had 70% battery left..

i have no issues with battery life.

I'll tell you this, lithium Ion batteries supposedly don't need to be conditioned (drained all the way down & then recharged) but , it just might be coincide, I'm getting much better life out of my battery after I fully drained it several times and fully charged it. And I also noticed that when it hit 50% it lasted over 6 hours, the last 2 of the 6 , I played music and surfed around heavily( using WiFi) in order to drain it. I'm on it right now unplugged since 6am this morning, sitting around 80% its not scientific ,but I'm definitely getting better battery life yesterday and this morning.

I have been running some test on my Incredible's battery life. The first day with a full charge I was dead at 3:00 PM with very little usage. That night with a 100% charge, I turned off everything on the phone except the "use wireless networks".
I woke up 8 hours later with the battery at 68%. I lost 32% in my sleep. The last two nights I have done the same thing and got 90% and 88%. Any ideas on what would cause this?

*228 folks - my battery life improved greatly after that.

to update - i'm able to use the phone moderately to heavy and survive a full day after *228. Before, it couldn't last 12 hours without hardly being used!

yesterday - I had about 75 minutes of phone calls via bluetooth, i downloaded, installed, and tested 4 apps, and uninstalled one. I ready about 40 emails and read and sent about 50 total text messages. I used the web browser for about 10 minutes. I used GPS for about 25 minutes, and also downloaded the google star map app while I was doing it. I played with google star maps for about 5 minutes. Batter was less than 9% when i was done. All over a 12 hour period of time.

really its not that the battery is NOT incredible, its because the incredible is so incredibly incredible of a beast that it tears into the battery. Being on the Android OS is hard on the battery itself with the way it is setup. Not that I am backing Verizon on this one though, I do think that any phone you buy should be able to make it through a day without having to plug in. The stock battery should have been upped in conjunction with the increase in power usage from the DROID( 25 percent ) even if we had to pay more for it. Keep in mind with 2yr activation, the incredible is still the same price as the DROID.

My Incredible battery is now lasting the full day from 340 am to when I go to bed, usually 1030 - 1100 pm. The last few nights I have been having to play with my phone a little bit to run the battery down for it's nightly charge.

As long as the phone can get me through the day, from start to finish without needing to be plugged in I'm happy. I understand it's more like a laptop than what we used to think of cell phones. Heck my Wife's old phone lasts almost 8 days on standby and 2 - 3 days with use...and you know how they like talking to the MILs. LOL.

She now has an Eris and it easily lasts twice as long as my Incredible...though I know it's because it has a 500 megahertz processor vs the Incredible's 1 Gig.

It's making it the full day and I'm happy about that.

One of the things i don't understand is why VZW didn't equip the Incredible with the 1500ma battery, as used in the TP2, rather than the 1300ma one we have? Since I am reading that these two batteries are physically the same size, they could have given us a 15% power boost right from the start.

I have been talking with VZW daily and there is no eta for the 2150ma extended battery.

One last item (rant) - the word is BATTERY with a Y on the end. I see many posts on various forums, where folks call it a "batter". Makes me worry (more) about what is happening in our schools. For the record, batter is what I make pancakes with. Now I feel much better......

Maybe it's forum slang.

Batter vs Battery
Pron vs Porn
Pwned vs Owned

You get the idea...lots of people find it trendy to mangle actual words with a slang that will differentiate them from the normals of the world.

I am a newbie smart phone owner. I just got the Incredible last Friday and have been very disappointed by the battery life. I know it will eat battery, but I need it to at least give me 18 hours or so. So I came here looking for suggestions. I have done the following: I drained the battery down to nothing yesterday and charged it overnight. I did the *228 thing. I also turned off the internet, WiFi and GPS when not using it. (No sense running those things when the phone is sitting in my purse at work.) Low and behold, I took the thing off the charger at 6 AM and at 9:30 PM, it is asking me to plug it in. I can live with that. I am guessing that the reprogramming and turning off things are giving me the biggest boost. Thanks to all of you for you suggestions.

I have brightness at its highest setting and the live firework background, I took it off the charger at about 9:30am and its now 12:12am and it just now hit the yellow. I also have wifi activated.
