Iris - Siri like app for Android [ALPHA]

I have you to thank for this, portermac!! Before you, I knew nothing of Voice Actions and now...

Me: Gladys, I think we were made for each other.
Gladys: When did this occur?
Me: Last week.
Gladys: Are you sure this is the last one?
Me: Yes. Tell me a joke.
Gladys: I never forget a face but in your case, I'll make an exception.
Me: LOL
Gladys: You have my full attention. Does this indicate disapproval?
Me: It does not.
Gladys: Are you serious? I heard it does!

And all of this entertainment for FREE!! Soon, no on will know me as well as Gladys does!

i dont care who you are, thats funny stuff right there

Voice Search is where it's at. it does everything you ask it too. for example, i told it to F Off, it said "Ok" and the app closed

I'd like an app that would let me send text messages with Google voice by only speaking to it.

Boot Manager

Pretty amazing so far.

I've been using Pannous Voice Actions for a while now and love it! Works well with SVOX too!

Thanks for the tip. Installed Voice Actions. It recognizes my questions, and answers on screen (but the answer only stays up for a couple of seconds), but no talkie. Tried touching the option in Settings - "Touch this if you can't hear me" - still doesn't speak. ??

My guess is that the answer box goes away quickly because the voice module isn't kicking in.

Anyone have a fix?
Thanks.

Are there any of these that run in the background, waiting for you to say something to it?

Lifehacker had one this morning called Sonalight Text by Voice for Android Reads Incoming SMS Messages Aloud, Sends Them Using Your Voice but, it got annoying, when it started saying things when it was in my pocket and I was listening to the radio. It also added a tag at the end of texts.

Plus, I dont know how much battery it would eat.

If I have to press a button, I will just use Voice Search, like I have been for a while now.

Voice actions really work. Last nite I told it to wake me up at 5:45 am. This morning my alarm on my X went off at the exact time. I luv it!!!!

You might have media volume turned down. Check that

Could it be that your media volume is turned down? Also, are you using the default engine for tts?

Has anyone played with the reminder feature? Mine seems to only set an alarm. It does not display what the reminder was for. I have a similar issue when using it to create events in the calendar.
