Is your tbolt rebooting several times a day?

I tested a 32gb class 10 card from my camera to my phone and the reboot stopped. Running stock from big V.

Like most people I like having everything on my SD card. When I replaced the the slow card with a class 10 the reboots stopped. I am wondering if the programs were being bottleneck and the forcing the reboots.

I purchased a GarbageBolt after my OG droid started crapping the bed. The connection problems started almost immediately. Sitting at home I would go from 3G to no service in a moment and be back to 3g again. Using the browser was nigh impossible because it would constantly lose service. Only got worse when I got to work with this phone. Where my OG Droid would have 3g under 3 floors of concrete, this HTC junk wouldnt get any service on the roof. THen I got the OTA update and the phone started rebooting and downloading apps from the market (same app up to 5 times at once) that I never even looked at. After 4 days I had it swapped out for a brand new one. THis new one had all the exact same problems with the addition of extreme battery issues (much worse than the original TB) and sucked a fully charged extended battery down to nothing in 4 hours with next to no use. After contacting HTC about this, the rep said I was the first person hes heard of that had ANY problem with the TB dispite their forums page with lists of connection and reboot problems. In my Opinion, not only is the GarbageBolt a junk phone, HTC is a junk company as well.

Same here....seems like its getting worse too. My data is totally unreliable and the reboots are increasing.

I was warned not to buy HTC products before I bought this phone but didn't listen.

Not that I'm concerned with the rebooting issue because it's a minor software glitch that will be fixed soon enough. I keep everything on my phone, so I don't think a bottle neck of the SD card is causing the reboot. Some people have had reboots while on phone calls which don't use the SD card and I had one recently while on facebook, which is stored in the internal memory.

But that's a good theory though because I have in the past seen reboots be caused by applications on the SD card that running in the background when trying to mount the SD card to the computer.

No matter what phone I've owned I've always seen a lot of people complain about something. I don't have all these issues. And if I did I would fix them... All the information on how to fix most anything is out there.

Most smartphone owners are not smarter than their device. Haha

I rooted and flashed das bamf remix and have not had a reboot nor do I have any of the issues people are complaining about anymore. I'm glad I didn't return this phone. I just got 2268 quadrant...bloat is gone...battery is better....connection is great

Its actually kind of funny to see this whole ordeal transpire frustration in customers....and the generally accepted attitude that "the Thunderbolt sucks...I want to get rid of it".

There is great flaw in this logic.

Think of the phone (hardware) and the software as separate entities (even though I know they go hand and hand, but for arguments sake...shut up for a minute and just listen...not trying to be rude...just calm the red rage here)

1. I remember when I first got my D1...i was impressed. LOVED it despite it having a couple shortcomings. First it was 2.1, then 2.2 froyo came...YAY!!!...even better. Then I rooted....then all kinds of roms of 2.2 were getting flashed on my phone. All of them worked pretty darn well and NONE of them were 100% Flawless. Yet....I still loved my phone. Then came MIUI....I was on MIUI for the longest time. It was unlike anything any of us had seen on an android phone. Weekly updates started coming...I was wiping my phone and flashing a new release on a weekly basis. All of them had some known issue. I remember the reboots right around the november 2010 releases. It happened A LOT. ...still loved my D1...and still do.

Now...the Tbolt is released. the "unrootable" was rooted in a friggen day. Shortly after its release, custom ROMs start popping up for it.

so...on 5/13/11 (not even 6 days ago), an OTA patch was pushed. This patch is causing SOME users to experience reboots (anywhere from 1 ever - a few a day). Personally I have had 3 in the week Ive owned the phone.

Now everyone is complaining about the Tbolt being a piece of crap...and I want to return this phone...and this phone sucks....blah blah blah. People its a friggen OTA update. What is so difficult to understand about it. Yeah...dont get me wrong...its a minor inconvenience.......but the PHONE IS NOT GOING TO STAY THIS WAY FOREVER! Seriously...a fix will come. A new OTA will push....reboots will disappear...gps already locks on for me.

Its NOT the phone....its the OTA update that sucked. And to be fair...it apparently doesnt suck for EVERYONE...some people have no probs whatsoever.

Stop whining...pull your panties out of your butt and be patient. What would you think about your thunderbolt if there never were any reboots? What if GPS locks instantly? Would you still think the TBolt sucks?

I somewhat agree with your assessment when it comes to a minor reboot issue, but I'm sorry the 4g/3g/1x issue is a pretty big fricken deal, especially when the signal handoffs (or lack thereof) sometimes render the data connection useless without a reboot.

What a joke...called Verizon....uhh this is the 1st time we are hearing complaints about this phone.

Yeah right.

And some of u guys are in denial. This phone has serious fatal flaws and the vast majority of people don't have the knowledge to root(not like that fixes it from what I've seen) nor should one have to in order to make the phone stop rebooting.

I am an android guy...hate itunes..and didn't really care for the iPhone. Loved my D1

People waited on this phone for so long and wanted it to be the "iphone killer" so badly that they are defending it no matter what.

Or people like yourself who are adamant about how bad this phone sucks when the problem is the ota update and not the phone. You come off as the kind of person that will not be satisfied even when the fix update is pushed. Impatient...

Rooting did help by the way. Also helped with battery life as well

mine rebooted today, the battery is warm, stuck on 3g.. my friends in the office is on 4g with no issues...

doing a factory reset now.. im getting fed up with this phone.

How did your factory reset help out?

we'll see.. so far so good... i was stuck on 3g for sometime too.. this phone is becoming a pain.. its so unstable..

im praying for a Galaxy 2S with LTE.. then will throw my TB in the ocean ;)
Your going to buy a Samsung? lol

The user 9-10 times is the problem, not the phone. My TBOLT is great now and before. Didn't do update

Can't recall a phone causing this much friction since I've been around Android. I hate to see one of the premier handsets having so many issues but I would think HTC is going to find a fix or they are going to eat a bunch of these phones.

It also seems that, logically, rooted users have less problems and it very well could be the bloatware causing some of the issues as much as the kernel/radio or whatever people assume it is.

Hope they figure it out for you guys soon......

Called Verizon today about reboot issues...they are sending me another phone. Didn't start rebooting until after the update. The weird thing I noticed was when I did a hard reset but downloaded programs stayed on the phone. The programs weren't on the SD card so I don't see how they would stay unless the hard reset isn't working as it should.
