[KERNEL] Kernel (deprimed_test) - Break It If You Can

I've been running it hard and its smooth on my device.

★edit★
Running smooth but my load average got all the way to 20.00±

I have an idea why now, look for another test tomorrow sometime.

After being able to flash test kernel, seems to be running really good, don't notice much lag. When I do notice lag is when battery gets below like 40%, sure it's because Droid is aging.

Prime,

I went ahead and loaded the stock cm kernel and noticed that there is considerable lag when waking the phone with that as well. Could it be something with the base kernel as I believe yours is originally based on the stock cm kernel? I have no idea I'm just tossing ideas out into the wind.

I flash a lot of roms and I can tell you that anything strictly cm sourced seems to run fine with deprimed, (as in no wake up lag) Chevy's SS 5 and up, Steel Droid 9, Winner's cm builds, nightly cm builds even MIUI. I haven't tried any of Pete's GPA builds and I haven't loaded any Project Elite roms in a long time since it hasn't been updated so I can't speak for those.

With certainty I've noticed the wake up lag issue the most on Liquid's roms 3.0 and up, also with Cushzero's first 2.3.7 build a few weeksn ago and his newest 2.1.1 build (which is also based on liquid's rom, so that makes sense it has the same issues)

I'll do more testing once another update is up for it. I still had wake up lag on these roms with the 2 revisions from last night.

Thanks for testing and reporting guys.

My kernel is cloned from CVPCS which is a mtwebster clone. Most kernels are cloned as who wants to do all the backporting and patching when that would take months.

I believe the issue is either power management related or the rom your having issues with has a method of downclocking the governor when the screen is off.

Thanks for the update Prime. Do you know why it would only be this kernel though? I have used Chevys and Pete's kernels with no problems at all. Is there something that different in the base CM kernel?

I would need to compare sources to know for certain, I will locate Pete's git and check his configuration against mine to see if anything stands out.

I tried all 3 major govs (Bumblebee, OnDemand and Interactive) with all 3 of the current kernels(previous, current and the update). All of them have this screen-wake lag. I am currently using Liquid Gingerbread but have noticed this on most ROMs aside from straight up CM7.

I really hope we can narrow down what this is because this is an amazing kernel by the best kernel developer around.

Yeah, Deprimed and Liquid do not mix well at all from my experience. Curious as to why this is the case. It's my understanding that Deprimed was geared towards CM, but why is it so unstable on other ROMs? Chevy's have been good to me on every ROM I've tried. What's the difference in kernel that causes this? I appreciate Prime and all his hard work and I'd like to be able to use his kernel .

I'm not sure yet, I have been busy last couple of days. I will let you know what I find out.

Embarrassing post removed thanks to winner00's generosity.

Sorry it's taking so long for another test, I nuked my Ubuntu development environment in favor of mint and it's taken time to get it back up to speed. I am ready again.
