Kernels, Get Your Kernels, RED HOT Kernels! - Sapphire - 0.7.0

I just had a chance to test out the P3 kernels for sapphire. My phone sure doesn't like the SV or LV 1.25. Going to try downloading lower speeds and test.

I'm having trouble installing Google Maps. Keeps saying installation failed everytime i try to download and install it. Suggestions? Ive tried the Gapps fix in the OP and that didnt work. :(

i had to reinstall Sapphire and wipe to get it to work

Dang.. If I have to wipe I think I'm gonna try a new Rom lol nothing against Sapphire because I like it, I just like trying new things and what better time to try than a wipe? :)

Alright, just fired up Sapphire for the first time today. Been using DarkEdge the past few months but thought I'd give Sapphire a whirl while I'm waiting around for DE 2.2.

My biggest question...where are the best themes for Sapphire?!

A second question, my Advanced settings for SetCPU when using 2.1 DarkEdge were 50000, 75, 0, 0 and it was amazingly perfect. Should I continue to use those same settings with Sapphire or should I try something different? My previous kernel and the Sapphire kernel are both 7 slot 1 GHz P3 kernels.

*The theme question is of the most importance...I can't take looking at my Droid right now while it has the stock setup! lol

*also, Beautiful Widgets and Google News & Weather won't give me weather information. I've tried refreshing, rebooting and nothing works. Kinda annoying...is this a Sapphire bug?

Dumb question but I've forgotten....

What LED flashlight app works for 2.2?

Yes - as annoying is this sounds, best bet is to (cleanly) install (e.g. data/cache wipe) 0.6.2, get your apps restored and everything set up, and then upgrade (no wipe) to 0.7.0.

There's a theme thread here which you can peruse to see if there's anything you like. Themes for Sapphire are sort of still in infancy.

Really?! Damn, that sucks. I just redownloaded a bunch of my apps an hour ago! :icon_evil:

I'll give that a try. Just install 0.6.2 after a data wipe...then install 0.7.0 the same way (update.zip) but without a date wipe?

Could I just install 0.7.0 immediately after installing 0.6.2 rather than redownloading all my apps and everything inbetween?

You could, but if you flash to 0.6.2, your apps will auto install. Then it is best to upgrade to 0.7.0.

OK, I just wiped clean and installed 0.6.2. I downloaded most of my apps that I had. So do I just install 0.7.0 now and all should be good?

Yup...
