It's rare to see/hear people using studded tires around here. You can always hear those folks coming down the road, as they have that distinctive sound on pavement. I think studded tires are better on icy roads as opposed to snow covered, which is why they aren't very popular around here.

Yeah, when I have noticed them on cars it's typically older folks driving, OR on vehicles in lower population counties where snow removal isn't as prevalent. When I purchased new tires last month they did have a couple sets on display, so there could very well be a lot more people who use them than I realize. I just don't notice them all that much around town.

Most Acura's will do great in the snow a long as they have decent tires. Most Acura's are front wheel drive so as long as her all weather radials have decent tread left on them, they'll do just fine. [emoji106]

They're brand new as of the fall.. She's so scared because she got into 3 accidents in 12 months. Two weren't her fault and one was her fault, so she's skittish. I want to take her during the snow onto an empty parking lot and let her drive and brake and get used to the skid, like my Dad did with me at 16. I've never had fear because I knew I could control everything but ice. If she had a garage, I'd tell her husband to get her Blizzaks on separate rims like I have, but I don't have any room in the garage for another set of tires.

Yes, people do, but you can't stud Blizzaks and I love the Blizzaks. Studs only last about 2 years at their best form and then you just have plain tires after that.

I can understand that, a bad accident will do that to ya. It'll get better in time, but I agree with you....that would be a good idea to find an empty lot somewhere and have her practice to feel just how her car will react on the ice & snow during various maneuvers. That will definitely help build some confidence. [emoji106]
