LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

Having issues with LP today. Six FC, which is three times the usual number. A number of widgets had problems appearing on the home screens. Missing apps in the file drawer. Not sure what the issue is. May be the droid itself. Vibrate isn't working today either. No problems yesterday, hmmmmm....

Ive been having problems with LP as well for the past week or so with multiple FC's everyday. Usually around 4-5.

OK

I think it worked. I changed my pref to 6 screens but I am not sure if I got the six. What do you mean by the "DOCK"? Now I can add apps to these main screens? Right?
If so, Looks like you did it. Thanks

Hi

And thank you very much. It works like a charm and I believe I do have the 6 screens. Now to figure out the order to place them in.
Thank you so much again for all your time and help.

Harry

This is a fantastic Launcher. I have been trying to find one that takes the place of Home++ and I think this is it. I love how you can tweak so many of the settings. With 7 screens and the ability to set it to have 5 rows per screen, anything you need will be at your fingertips. Plus, when you change it to landscape, you can also change the settings for how many rows you want there also.

I had some delays and fc's with 3D app drawer, so just disabled that option, seems to work faster and better now.

Are you using the 3D app drawer?

You might just get your wish soon :P

Wow, awesome. I sure hope so. I'd quit using the stock launcher altogether once that feature comes out.

I tried digging through the framework-res.apk and launcher2.apk to see how to change it.

This.

Much...MUCH preferred to the default Home app in Froyo. Google needs to hire this developer yesterday. After using this after Froyo's stupid app drawer, there is no going back.

I found this home replacement last night and it is FAST. It is honestly faster than any other home replacement I've ever tried and faster than any of the stock ones we've used.

The feature list isn't huge but the speed is amazing! The app drawer is 2D but the apps "fly in" like the 3D one.

Here is the market description:

Based on the stock Android Launcher (Home app), LauncherPro adds some new and exciting features:

- Super-smooth scrolling between home screens
- Animated screen previews (like Exposé or HTC Sense)
- Up to 7 home screens
- App drawer with a fly-in effect and smooth scrolling
- Shortcuts to phone, SMS, contacts and browser.
Everything listed above is SUPER smooth. Screen scrolling, app drawer scrolling, the fly-in effect, the screen previews, all amazingly fast.

It is so fast that I think I'll keep this one. Also, the dev has been updated fairly regularly with new features.

OK. I did that. now i have 5 icons on the bottom. Phone, contacts ( iguess) 16 boxes, and search. I thought I was suppose to get 6 or 7 different windows?

I see by other posts you figured out most of the stuff by now. The "16 boxes" bring up your apps. Did you also install Home Switcher? Put that on one of your screens and you can easily switch between this, the original screen and any other Homes you add.

Hay guys, I need help with this app. I have never downloaded it off the market, yet when I set up my phone after installing a rom, one of the first things that pops up is the "which app sould you like to perform this action?" It gives me 3 choices, launcherpro, the regular one, orADW launcher...I've been using launcherpro as my dfault, and it's awesome, but I'm not able to open it to tweak the settings. It doesn't show up in my apps...the only place it shows up is settings/apps/runningapps, and in there I can't really do anything with it...

So I tried downloading it from the market and it won't DL, I just get "unsuccessful" every time..

Should I uninstall in settings and try to re-install from the market maybe?

When you're at the home screens, press the menu button on your phone (the one with 4 lines if you're on the Droid) and choose 'Preferences'

Thats where you change your LauncherPro settings.

Fede,

If you're reading through, I have one suggestion for a tweak you can make with a future update. If possible, can you have an option where when you have the notification bar 'hidden', it will show itself if you have any new notifications that come in and will re-hide itself once you've expanded the bar to log that you've viewed it?

I keep my Droid as my desktop clock at work while plugged into the dock at work, and while I love this app, it does get annoying that I have to press the menu button to view if I have any notifications instead of it telling me itself. Wouldn't be a problem if Android didn't screw with the LED light causing it to not flash when the front screen is on.
