LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

Just updated (since I knew I could roll back) and the update works fine for me, not sure why others have issues. Also, ADW is a lot slower than this and I don't like the 2 shortcuts at the bottom and weird 6-tiny shortcut drawer thing.

And the Minimum Scrolling Speed should be at 0, NOT 100. I'm pretty sure that is the minimum speed that you need to move your finger before the screen will slide. So if you set it high, you need to move your finger really fast for it to do anything. If you set it low, you can slowly slide your finger and see the screen move slowly. This is part of why the screen animations look so fluid IMO.

Thas what i was thinking an have been trying out. So i been messing with the speeds between 0-30..no more then that; just to see how its affected.

I agree, wish I could roll back to the previous version.

You can revert back to most of the previous versions by downloading the .apk file that is posted on the LauncherPro website for each. I do it right through the browser on the phone and it installs without any problems at all. Also, the file for that version is then permanently on my phone and I can revert back to it and install any time I like.

I agree with many of the recent comments; I don't think scrolling is nearly as smooth as previous versions. In my opinion speed and overall performance is without a doubt the most important factor. For me, the sweetest build was 0.4.3, which I'm currently running. I've tried each of the subsequent updates and have reverted back each time. Hope these issues are addressed as I love this launcher!

Could you try 0.5.2 with a minimum scrolling speed setting of 83? That should be roughly the same speed that was used in 0.4.3.

Fede, for me it wasn't the scrolling speed in 0.5.2 that was the problem, it was missed swipes. I would have to swipe multiple times to move between screen (sometimes not always), on 0.5.2. When I reinstalled 0.5.1 the phone started to act normal again.

Speed has been fine for me with this update, but I am noticing the missed swipes as well. It just doesn't seem as sensitive as before.

Missed swipes are because of scrollable widget support -- vertical scrolling competing against horizontal scrolling.

I've just released 0.5.3 which lets you disable scrollable widget support (swiping will be the same as in 0.5.1) and also gave a bit more weight to horizontal swiping when support is enabled.

Thanks for actually taking the time to pay attention to all of us Fede. There are so many devs that don't appear to read comments or look into what users think. You keep adding what everyone wants and update right away when we run into issues.

Fede
I just want to say thanks for a wonderful app. I introduced 4 of my friends to it last night and they are loving it. Works great on an eris, droid, and evo.

Thanks for the response to my post Fede. I downloaded the new 0.5.3 build and changed the minimum scrolling speed to 83 like you asked and it seems to have done the trick. Swiping from side to side is smooth and very much like 0.4.3. I even went ahead and bumped the speed up a little bit, near 100, and it's even smoother. So far so good; I'm going to give it a try here for a bit. Thank you for paying attention to us users and being so responsive to fix these types of things, it's very much appreciated!

thanks for 0.5.3. Fede, + the 83 speed scrolling. Everything is pretty much back to normal now except the elasticity. just doesn't seem to bounce the same. I really kind of love the bounce.

He Fede I'm using ver. 0.5.3 with enable scrollable widgets checked, and I have the latest ver.of pure messenger (1.6.6) which is supposed to support scrollable widgets on Launcher Pro. But I can't get it to scroll, of course it could be on the messenger widgets issue no the launcher, but just thought I'd ask.

You have to use one of the 3 widgets designated for Home++. In case you didnt know that.

See, I didn't want to complain a lot about this, and I just sucked it up and dealt with the lagginess of the 0.5.2 Update cause I knew Fede would correct it by the end of the day because its obvious he takes pride in his work.

Just downloaded the update and the missed swipes issue is eliminated. For now, it seems that the launcher is not so much snappier but is much smoother than it was before. Very impressed by this.

Now, if you could just put out an update that will auto-show the notification bar when emails/texts/voicemails are received, I'll be a happy, happy boy.

Ok so the scrolling works perfectly on home++ widgets, thanks
but now anytime I change the font color on the widget I can't read it any more!? Only white works!!
