Fede,

When you come out with a donate version, I'm in. About 20 people I work with are carrying Droids and most of them are running your launcher as well. :)

Now, question: if I have a Droid with 2.2, should I check the Droid hack option? Or does that *only* apply to 2.1 builds?

And... frivolous request... think you could maybe include the Droid X app drawer icon as one of the chooseable custom icons in LauncherPro? Someone's already made a custom build of LP with it reskinned in this post...

http://www.droidforums.net/forum/dr...-xtheme-droid-x-froyo-2-2-a-2.html#post586798

...but I'd rather not break my update cycle by running a hacked version.

Thanks for everything so far.
And for a silly request... how

That IS a pretty silly request :icon_ banana:

Hey Fede what items are you looking for so I can copy just that. I do not want to copy the entire thing because it has my geolocation info. Call me paranoid, but that is too much info to put on a forum.
In the above info I deleted that info out ..and there is more but majority is dealing with weather.

Fede,

I use Launcher Pro exclusively. It is a great product! You have done and continue to do a fine job with it. I rarely encounter a FC.

I have a Motorola Droid running stock 2.1.

I am using 7 screens with number 4 as my home screen. I have 15 apps on the looping dock. I also am using 5 rows with 4 icons per row. (The only reason I am using 7 screens is because they are available. I love Folder Organizer/App Organizer, so 3 screens is really all I need)

Screen 1 has 4 widgets (Picture Frame)
Screen 2 has 0 widgets
Screen 3 has 7 widgets (6 Beautiful widgets; Wifi, Silent, Vibrate, Plane, Bluetooth, and Silent; and GPS On/Off
Screen 4 has 1 widget (Beautiful Widget smaller)
Screen 5 has 3 widgets (Touchdown calendar, Pure calendar and gTasks)
Screen 6 has 1 widget (Tunewiki)
Screen 7 is unused.

(If I restricted myself to 3 screens, the screens 3,4,5 are the primary ones; with Folder Organizer, my apps all fall into specific folders, that fit neatly on a couple of screens.)

The one thing I did was set the "memory usage" to light. This did reduced the small number of FCs to virtually none.

This is based on my experience, most likely yours will differ.

Bob

Nothing constructive to add, just wanted to thank Fede for all the hard work, and mention that the newest version is a lot smoother on my Moto Droid. Might be a placebo effect, or the Droid hack, but I'm happy either way.

I'm hoping someone on here can help me so I can avoid creating a new post in regards to this issue. I'd like to start off by saying how much I love launcherpro and that I really appreciate the hard work that the dev has continued to put into it ever since its creation. This is literally the only problem I have and it might not even be a launcherpro problem but I'd really like to find a solution. Im running bugless beast 0.3 o'clocked to 1ghz and for some reason, whether it be switching back from another application or just unlocking the phone from sleep mode, I have noticed that the launcher is constantly restarting. It will take several seconds for my icons/widgets to load back up and its incredibly annoying (and time consuming). I have tried to change the settings within launcherpro such as keeping launcherpro in memory, but have continued to have these problems. I noticed this also occured while using ADW (far inferior) but not nearly as often. Has anyone else had this problem? Please don't bite my sack off if this has been mentioned before...I searched the forum and google and couldn't find anything.

Edit* I just read over a couple recent posts, and if people are complaining about launcherpro compared to adw, they're probably just incompetent imbeciles. It's not only disrespectful to the dev, but also utterly ridiculous to ridicule the best application in the market even with it being beta, not to mention that it's free.

Fede, I want to say that LauncherPro is great! I have 5 screens with 9 widgets on Medium Memory Usage (and "Keep In Memory" off). It runs fine and I haven't had an FC in a while. Friday I discovered that the 15 icon dock could scroll so you could get from the last 5 to the first 5 quickly.

Keep up the great work!

Glad to be able to reduce the scrolling dock down to 2 rows instead of 3.

I am also trying to decide if the "Droid Hack" is making a difference or not... I just did some optimizing/reducing to get back some performance the other day, so it is sort of hard to tell.

Over the next couple of days though, I'm most hopeful that some of the FC issues are truly gone.

Ive checked the Preferences with LP, but cant find where you can set Meory Usage...or is that for Rooted Droids?

I love LauncherPro, however I'm running into some frustrating things with it.

I'm a stock 2.1 user (non-rooted) with minimal apps. I'm getting force close once every couple days, which isn't really a big deal, however what annoys me about it, is it seems lag the phone quite a bit. When I push to end a call, it takes 5-7 seconds for the call to end and the screen to clear. Also, when selecting an app, it takes 3-5 seconds for it to register the selection and open the app. Other than that, it's great.

my dock bar is stuck in landscape mode and will not unstick with out restarting the app.
hopes this help......

Are you using the Keep in Memory option? That is a known problem with that option, sometimes it doesn't properly switch orientations and the dock bar gets stuck wherever it was before.

That option is still very much experimental, it uses stuff that we're not really supposed to use, so it's a bit quirky.

There's nothing on that logcat that can tell me what's making the apps bunch up on the corner.

It could very well be the max opening speed though. I'd try reducing it to 7/8/9 and see if that solves the issue.

is it possible to change the app drawer or bottom of the screen? i've seen a lot of cool app drawers on commercials for many android devices and Im wondering if I can change it on this home replacement. I've been trying a bunch and this seems pretty fast.
