Leaked FRG22 Update Available for Rooted Droid 1

What baseband is everyone with Froyo on? I loaded this up earlier, and I just noticed it's the same baseband as I had with 2.1, C_01.3E.03P.

That's the latest baseband. There has been no update since that was leaked. However, this is (with FRG01B) the first time non-rooted Droids are supposed to have that baseband, so as far as Verizon is concerned it IS an update.

ugh... everything is great, but i'm missing a lot of apps in the apps store. mlb at bat, pure calendar widget. will the original market fix take care of this?

I was just looking on Droid-Life, and in two separate articles, on two different Droids, with two separate builds, they have C_01.43.01P. Here and DROID Froyo OTA Halted? FRG22 Replacing FRG01B? | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog.

i think i found something new with this build or at least i was never asked this before. when i booted and it updated things i got a screen asking about activating Device Administrator. I have my work email (Exchange) syncing with my phone and this looks like some new management features. It talks about what looks like a remote wipe, password policies etc... see drocap pic. Did anyone else see this? Has anyone ever seen it before?

New for 2.2 is support for MS Exchange security policies. The device administrator allows the security polices to make changes to your phone.

For example, if your corp exchange requires PIN security, the email client will instruct the phone to enable PIN security at the phone level.

Yeah i knew they had added these features with 2.2 but i have had all except one of the leaked releases installed and never got this dialog box before. thinking about it more now it looks like this was initiated from the server side. we have a hosted solution so what they do is not 100% transparent without asking tons of question. I know the BES has been going crazy so it really stands to reason that they made some changes without telling us (i am one of the admins). if my company cared 2 craps about decent security i could use this to push them away from the icrap but they dont and even better they dont so it just concerns me that if they knew about it they could wipe my phone without my consent. i just hope the remote wipe doesnt scare me enough i have to start carrying 2 phones again. that is of course unless i can get my hands on a Blackberry Torch so i can check the new RIM O/S out

My mistake. The 43 one is the latest. If you want the latest one you'll need to flash it in, no big deal, and Pete has an all-in-one update -- otherwise you'll have to flash the prior update before you flash in the latest.

Thanks, that's what I was thinking, I have been slacking with my Droid lately. So that is the baseband you're on, and it has no issues?

The market fix tells the market you're still running 2.1, so yes, it works, but it does so in a way that you might not want it to. Did you backup your apps with Astro or Titanium before flashing this in? If not, you could always restore your latest nandroid, do so, and then reflash this.

The apps WILL be updated to 2.2, eventually. It's up to the Dev to do so, but as more phones hit the market (no pun intended) running 2.2 and 3.0+, the incentive for the Devs to upgrade their apps becomes overwhelming.

Yes, and I get better signal by far with it. Some people report degraded signal and shorter battery life, but there's always the possibility of user error instead of a software glitch. YMMV, but I'd suggest flashing it in. If you notice there's an issue you can always flash the old one back.

How do I get theFRG01B OTA? I have not gotten the option to update pushed to me.
1, you don't get an option to have it pushed to you; it gets pushed automatically.
2, a manual update would be faster -- do you want an order of root with that?
3, the update has been reportedly suspended and at least one user here has reported a bricked phone from the OTA when it was pushed to him last night.

thanks for the info, the only thing is that i have my wife's phone running frg01 and all the apps show up in her market. so it doesn't seem to be a froyo problem, it seems to be an unofficial build problem?

does anyone have the link to the frg01 rooted?

Thanks I will just wait until the official update comes out. I use it for work and pleasure and can't afford to have it bricked. Thanks for the info.
