Leaked FRG22 Update Available for Rooted Droid 1

Alright is it me or does this update take up ALOT more phone memory? I had around 40MB free on FRF81B and I update to FRG22 and I have 9MB free I was able to get up to 14MB but is there any solution to this or is it just how it goes with this update? Other than that it seems to work great! Thanks!
Are you talking RAM or what?

No not ram I believe phone internal storage I keep getting how it is low and I had never received that till after this update and I installed nothing else except the software.

Ah, yes... FroYo uses a lot more system storage than Eclair. However, other than suggesting you do a system/data wipe to see if that fixes things, I'm at a loss. Maybe someone else has an idea or three?

It's also possible it's talking about the phone's storage for apps, in which case you'll want to move as many of these apps to the SD card as possible, assuming you haven't done that already.

I believe it may be for the app storage but I did go through and found quite a few apps which weren't in the SDcard so I moved them. But the funny thing is I had an earlier leaked version of froyo rooted and it didn't take up as much I believe it freed up around 30mb of memory unavailable with eclair.

Again Thank You for the help:)

I downloaded the non-deodexed install file, put it on the root of the sd card and flashed into recovery mode as the instructions prescribe. Everything seems to work I the clockwork loader, then when I tell it to reboot the phone gets stuck in a loop at the red eye. I am running rooted 2.1 (from the last OTA update) with superuser permissions and have now tried this process twice with the same results. Any help you guys can offer is greatly appreciated.

Ominous

Did you do a factory reset and wipe prior to installing this ROM? If you were at 2.1 that would be necessary prior to updating. If you had been at FRG01B, you can update without wiping.

I am running stock 2.1 and trying to install FRG22. I installed SPRecovery onto my phone. I took the direct link FRG22 file and did nothing to it but put it on the root of my SD card. I used SPRecovery to try and install it but it keeps getting aborted. What am I doing wrong? I didn't wipe the phone or anything, just followed the directions on the OP and tried it that way. Any help would be appreciated.

No. I will try a factory reset and wipe and post the outcome. Should I perform it through nandroid or Clockwork?

Are you allowing update.zip installation (deprecated)?

I have FroYo!!!!!

Thank you! I did a wipe and installed the module first time. Now to restore all of my apps and start exploring. Do I need to do anything to disable the OTA update?

Yes, using that command, but it continues to abort. You don't need to do anything to the FRG22 file or anything before putting it on the root of the SD card do you? I downloaded the file to my PC then put in on my SD card via USB mounting. What am I missing?

Sorry, total noobie here trying to install this thing. Do I do anything with the old Update file that is currently on the SD card?

You need to rename it or delete it.

anyone noticed goggles doesn't work again? it worked in frg01b...

using deodexed if it matters...

What is it doing for you? I'm on the deodexed version and it is working. One thing I did notice is that the flash would blink if it was on auto.
