Liberty ROM - v. 2.0

Are there any plans to release the final Liberty 2.0 as a Torrent as well? It would sure be much easier and faster than Megaupload or a similar site.

Or better yet do both. Torrent for initial download rush the first few days, and Megaupload for the long run. I'm sure a ton of people would keep their BitTorrent clients open to help out after downloading...

Restore LauncherPro issue

Hello and thanks for another great release of Liberty (glad that I could donate). I noticed that once Titanium reinstalled all of my apps, I kept getting an error when I tried to backup or restore my LauncherPro settings. I was able to fix it using Fix Permissions in the Liberty Toolbox. Has anyone else seen this?

Installing Themes in Liberty 2.0

The new theme installation is a little odd for me. Can someone give a full explanation of how to install themes through the Liberty Toolbox? It looks like it is going to flash the whole phone if I accept the theme...is this what happens if I accept or am I just being a scared little sissy :icon_eek:?

Runs smooth & fast, but still has minor kinks. I have 2 Liberty toolbox icons for now & gallery has FC issues when trying to set pix as wallpapers, but after I changed font from Liberty toolbox & rebooted. Gallery seems to be working fine now. Donation & extra $ was well spent. Loving my Liberty so far! Thanks for the GREAT work Team Liberty!

There is nothing new about installing the themes. nothing to be scared of... The themes listed in the theme sticky for 1.5 all still work for 2.0.
I will be releasing themes shortly that are built off of 2.0 framework & should be backwards compatibile with 1.5. *On a side note all my themes will be optimized & zipaligned after seeing how smooth 2.0 runs with jrummy's optimizations, I want my themes to flow as smoothly as the stock theme. Thanks to jrummy for showing me the magic of .apk optimization! :blackdroid:

It is just that changing to one of the included themes in Liberty 1.5 seemed to be simple selection from the list and click okay operation. The method in 2.0 seems more involved. I'll look for the 1.5 sticky and check it out. Thanks mobile_sensei

Hello Drifter, The double toolbox icons is annoying, but if you use Launcher Pro, the home replacement app allows you to hide icons in your app drawer. I used this to make sure I did not try and use the old one. I can help you if you decide to use Launcher Pro. I do not use ADW, but it might let you hide them also.

So far to test, I've flashed Blue Gingerbread theme, Mysterious Beast theme, and UD theme, all to success. Was hoping they wouldn't work so I could help debug the themes issue.
Random questions to the can't-theme'ers:
Is it possible when originally installing lib 2.0 that you missed the clear data/cache check mark in the rom manager?
Have you tried opening Droid X Bootstrapper, click bootstrap recovery and okay, and then exit out to then go to tool box? Maybe it has something to do with Superuser not giving access to clockwork or something yet, not sure if I know what I'm talking about..

Charging my battery so I can install. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who works on Liberty - its a great ROM. Best $5 I will spend on my X. Cant wait for GB version but will gladly enjoy 2.0

You can just uninstall the old liberty toolbox

Some people are getting force closes on liberty settings if they do not have the old toolbox installed along with the new. That is why I proposed a solution to the 2 liberty icons problem until official release.

I posted this in the D2 thread as I have a D2 but I figure since the problem is on the DX as well I would post it here too for you guys....this is regarding the whole toolbox\Liberty settings topic....

Problem with installing the old toolbox to resolve FC's when going to Liberty Settings in your settings menu is when doing that when you go to settings then Liberty settings it takes you to the old toolbox and not the new one. It just isn't linking to the new one.

but yes....it doesn't force close anymore.

What I mean by "the old one" is if you select menu, settings from within the New Liberty toolbox you can change options....of course...anyway...select one and set it to something odd....then go back to desktop and hit menu...then settings....Liberty Settings....and you will see that the change you just made isn't being reflected there. Even though if you go back to the new one you will still see your change.

We are aware of the issues with the dual Toolbox applications and Settings FC. If you can sit tight, we'll have it all ironed out in a day or two. It's the top of our list currently.

As for the full release date, it should be a week from yesterday, pending no major hiccups.
