Lollipop Hold Out

Look around these forums, guys. Not many complaints at all. I really believe, for the first time IME, Motorola got an update right. I really believe it is why it took so long to roll out. They really wanted to nail it after they blew the Update for the Maxx/Razr HD.

While I agree updates should not be forced and in fact, you should be able to roll back, this is one case where someone got it right. It's a SOLID update that makes an already high end phone feel even more so.

Having said that: don't update because I said so! :D

Ooooooooooh no you dont!

So, I've thought about updating to Lollipop this weekend. In the past I've always performed a factory data reset before a OS install. Now, I have a large enough collection of Moto 360 watch faces that I don't want to lose. Is there any proven way to save these Facer watch faces?

Yes, it would work the same as using drop box.

For those that are still holding out, one very positive thing I've noticed since upgrading to 5.1 is the improved Wi-Fi speed I get now. Speedtests were only running about 7-10Mbps DL on KitKat. Now I get around 17-20Mbps on my 20Mbps service.

Ingress. YouTube.
On KK, when I leave WiFi range, anything would timeout. Then it would slowly grab 3g. Take 30 seconds to a minute before 4g would lock.
Now it goes right from WiFi to 4g.

Maybe someone HERE will help me...

Running a mofo rooted 4.4 Turbo, and over the last two weeks Verizon has been relentlessly trying to make me take the update, which I have avoided downloading, until last night. I wake up this morning to find they finally got over on me, and the update has been downloaded... but NOT installed... yet.

I LOVE the way my phone is now, as I have tethering which is the only reason I care to have root. I have read that by taking the update I will lose root, and I have also read a few threads claiming that I can retain root ONLY if I have 4.4 rooted, and then flashing to 5.1, which I have. The problem is, I have found little information proving this is true, or proven 5.1 flash files with tether.

Can someone guide me? Please? I need to either stop this OTA install (preferably delete the downloaded files which I cannot find) or go ahead and update to 5.1 and maintain root. Again, while I do not mind the upgrade, but have yet to find a trustworthy tether enabled 5.1 flash. While I did manage to root 4.4 using mofo, I am not the most knowledgeable on this kind of stuff, and simply want my tethering abilities. I wish they would just leave my phone and I alone, lol.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am sure that any time now the phone is going to install this stupid update they have now forced me to download.
