Lost my resolve.

agree to disagree, i guess. with the OG, Moto had a chance to build on it and virtually take control of smartphones. instead, it hasn't. they've come out with one incrementally better phone after another. disappointing... don't get me wrong, i'm still at the front of the pack cheering for Moto to take back control. but, it's looking like it won't be this year. just like the Cubs, there's always next year!

I completely understand why people are upset with moto, I'm just not one of them. true, they have only made incremental steps, but how many manufacturers have made giant leaps between models(some would actually say the Atrix was a giant leap). I'm coming from an OG droid, so the Bionic, to me at least, will be a pretty big leap.

There are many OG droid owners here who are looking at that leap.

However, in the back of my mind is the fact that the only reason the OG droid is still usable is that it was customizable. Will the bionic be customizable for those of us who are willing to pay top price once every two years and want a phone to be high tech and remain usable during that time?

Well the HTC Vigor do not look for that any time soon. May be December the earliest. Another phone with Bad battery life.. They should fix the battery issue before releasing anything. It will probably go the same route as the Thunderbolt That was suppose to be released November of last year and ended up being released February of this year. The GS2 If it has LTE that will not be out until late 4th Q the earliest according to my sources and without LTE I will pass on the GS2.. As of right now the Bionic is my only choice.
the tbolt was not due out in nov 2010, it was shown for the first time at the january ces 2011, the tbolt was only delayed 1 month

Actually you are mistaken The TB was first announced last summer at an HTC event. It was originally suppose to be a 3g phone and was originally suppose to be released last November. But they delayed it to put in a 4g radio showed it at CES and released it February.

But atleast it was delayed and it actually was improved. The Bionic was supposed to be the phone to end all phones, but its been delayed for so long and they haven't really added anything to make up for it.

Until moto gets rid of the pentile screen, I won't be buying.

I agree.

I think some people are making a big thing out of nothing when it comes to th Pentile screen IMO. I went and messed with the D3 and I went to Sprint to mess with the Photon. Looking for something to complain about after hearing so many complaints about the Pentile screen. I found nothing wrong with the Screens at all.

So the Bionic going from 512MB to 1GB ram wasnt an improvement? Adding webtop wasnt an improvement? (yea its preference, some ppl wont even take advantage of it but still...its an added feature that wasnt there before) IF their in house LTE chip is better than whats out now, that wont be considered an improvement?

But the changes to the TBolt are bigger improvements?

The Bionic was never supposed to be the phone to end all phones....that was the Atrix.

I think some ppl complain just for the sake of complaining...Looking at whats coming down the pipe for new phones, I might be back in the wait for something else boat. But that doesnt mean the Bionic didnt have improvements over the orig phone. Some ppl consider the new look an improvement. I'm one. I didnt like the rounded look from the CES model.
