Manually Update to 2.0.1

Maybe its just coincidence but a lot of apps required updating after i entered the market for the first time...(10 or so)

Just as a warning, I tried to pull up gallery and it says app not installed on phone. It appears they put a new updated gallery on the update also. So if this happens to you just remove that one icon and add it back from the main app drawer. (I think someone else had mentioned this in another thread also)

I'm glad I read that here. Any idea what they changed in the gallery?
I can't find anything different with a quick once-over.

I have no idea what they fixed. OH YEAH! DUH! they fixed the time / date stamp issue. I think that was related to the gallery. (If i'm wrong which i might be, don't hold it against me) That's really the only thing i could think of. Because I, like yourself found nothing different really, but there could just be better coding on the backside for movies / music / pictures.

LOL! google maps ALREADY has another version out. I guess they found some bugs. I'm happy they are really working on making the program amazing.

I only found 2 programs that needed updating, and google maps was one.

DONT USE SAFARI TO DOWNLOAD THIS! AUTOMATICALLY UNZIPS AND SAVES AS DIRECTORY! THIS WILL AUTOMATICALLY CAUSE A VERIFICATION ISSUE.

I rattled my head around this for about an hour. Used Firefox and all worked fine!

This was my problem. Thanks a lot for the info! 2.0.1 working great now

Awesome! Since yesterday I've been dying to update and hopefully fix all the spontaneous crashing. Here's a beer for the greatest Droid forum!

This is all too reminiscent of hacking the Storm up to new unofficial releases.

While I am certainly anxious for the update, I think I can wait a few more days to get it OTA.

Another thing I noticed, for the first time since I got the phone the "Corporate Calander" service is not running for no reason (never used it).

BTW, who else has poled around in the update.zip file on their PC to look at all the goodies inside and things that could be changed before using the update :-)
