Manually Update to 2.0.1

Well ... I installed the update and the camera's picture quality is actually worse ...and I didnt think that was even possible. What a POS! Any other advice?

You have 2 posts to date... both of which are extremely inflammatory and negative.

If you are having an experience thats different than everyone else who recieves the update... its not the update.. its an issue with you or your phone.

Or your trolling.... the universe doesn't revolve around you and your phone.....

Since you only have 2 posts, it would behoove you to do some reading and asking questions to learn something rather than assume your experience is what everybody else is having.
Did you register just to ***** or are you trying to learn something?

And if that were true, why would you need to post?

Its obvious your having an issue.... if you don't like the phone, take it back or throw it in the trash or figure out what the problem is.

But most everyone else is ecstatic with the welcomed update... while not perfect, is a major step towards perfection.

The only reason I responded to you is I gave you the benefit of a doubt that your not a troll.... now its up to you to be civil and respectful or prove yourself a troll.

Your begining to drive me nuts playin pretend mod, windstrings.

okay did the update:

1. still have the clicks when i open the camera app. however, pic taking is faster
2. no probs with gallery
3. no temp on the media dock, did reboot and battery pull, no i have no temp indicator (at least before it showed the "F", but now nothing in the bottom left hand corner)
4. one forum complained of audio problems when headphones are disconnected. did that, no prob there.
5. Had Verizon tab immediately, never experienced Download tab

one thing i noticed that in the instructions on how to update the phone, it said that i had to turn of the phone after the update to reboot the device. buy mine rebooted automatically after update was successful. was this suppose to happen?

while i was typing the last paragraph, rebooted my droid and still no temp on the media dock screen. blank, nada, zip, zelch (sic?), zero, gone, missing, abducted, etc...

Anyway to revert back to 2.0? I am having the browser lag problem. Its really bothering me considering how nice the browser was. Was thinking of going back to 2.0 and waiting for the OTA release.

No way to revert, and thats a common issue, and google is getting flooded with complaints about it.

Alright, well it being Google I am assuming they will fix it in a timely manner. I was just really excited about this update (and how well it works) then I went to the browser and was really disappointed.

after update:

when the droid is in the media dock, the "back", "menu", "home", and "search" buttons are not lit up anymore. i like this.

and the fact that the weather is not displayed is no prob either, but if i am the only one, then i guess i want that fixed

Seriously? Believe it or not I have better things to do with my time than visit a forum board about cell phones with a specific purpose in mind I posted the truth . Or this forum restricted to people who only speak positively about their cell phones, Fidel? I read many of the posts before voicing my honest opinion and from it sounds like several people are having the same issue. In fact, I even called Verizon and they admitted the camera software was flawed. You need to get your facts straight before opening your trap. 1) The universe doesn't revolve. 2) Look up the definition of "inflamatory" ...you might learn something ... calling someone a "troll" might be though, and 3) I never said the update sucked ... I said the update did not make my camera quaility any better ...the update might be great for other things, but I was only discouraged about the camera. Don't take things so personal, I am sure you didn't design the phone or write the software.

Possible Fix for Downloads Tab Instead of Verizon Tab

Downloads Tab Instead of Verizon Tab possible Fix....
I was able to change my Downloads Tab back to the Verizon Tab by clearing the data cache by doing the following (the following instructions were originally posted in the How-To: section under Clear History/Data for Programs by Stigy)

1) Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications

2) Press Menu > Filter > All

3) Click on Market and then click Clear Cache

This method maintained my list of installed/downloaded applications but returned the tabs to the correct naming and function.

Has anyone noticed the google search widget now "jumps" to the task bar when selected? It used to just "fill in" around the top and "connect" it to the task bar. Looks like a weird glitch. Anyone else notice this? Other than this and others' comments, update has been perfect.
