MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

Just to avoid any confusion in the future. You cannot do this with a custom recovery. This should be stated in the op... Just to avoid confusion. I do see where it is stated option for root users so when someone is rooted there is a good chance they have a custom recovery and revert to stock is necessary...not just being on .211 rooted and then temp unroot. Hope this helps. I may have missed it in the posts but I read through and tried to pick out...like I said I hope this might avoid any bad flash. In the original steps this is very importantly added. Thanks op! D2D out!!!
Edit; Nice class by the way MattyP:)

.215. REVIEW/inputs

Ya"ll wasnt liein when u guys said it was smoother, for me, i liked the speed on 211 ics durin my swipe,i cant complain.when ics came along, most of my apps didnt wrk right anymore(btw,i did everything in the book),since i did the leak, all of sudden the apps started to wrk agian, dnt know why.. but hey,it effin wrks so iam happy lol..the only thing iam unhappy about,is my gallery (work around it)n the damn flash saport, still trying to fix it n find a way,but for some of us,were sh*t outta luck till "who knows when"..besides bein off topic,i had one more question :doin this leak, would this affect any future versions when it tells u that "theres a system update"version update automatically?? Other then that..215 been savin a sh*t load of battery life though..stock ics drained it.it could be 50% n uncharged..ill be sleepin, wakeup,n itll be completely dead...

Quick battery update. I am one day in to my second foxkat meter training and this charge instead of the first 10% draining in 5 minutes, and the second 10% in 15 minutes, it took ten minutes for the first 10% and an hour for the second 10% so i think that's a good sign that i can get it back to normal .

I'm rooted and running the eclipse rom, do I have to factory reset and/or use the Razr utility to get back to stock ICS?

Factory reset won't help you need to use fastboot files either directly or through the utility.

I think it understood because it is common knowledge your system has to be stock to do an update, but he does mention in the post in bright red that you need to be on stock ICS to do the update.

Hopefully people that have a ROM do enough research and reading before they do something like this and make sure their system is stock and in working order before doing something like this.

Sydman, I think we need to refer people to the first post. Matty is very clear, in caps, that you must be stock .211. He also provides instructions for going back to stock.

Otter than my battery issue, .215 is working just great. No other issues. It seems like a very solid version.

I've did everything I've read to help with battery on the maxx, installed the .215 two days ago, but still only getting 12 hours or so with moderate use, where i used to get 2 days on GB. Any other suggestions? Also, with the leaked .215, will i still be able to update when Verizon comes out with a patch?

Hi Fred and welcome to the forums. Are you using smart actions battery extender??

Thank you for the welcome. No, not using smart actions fir the battery extender. I was Hoping to get back old battery life with out having to do anything different. But i will try the extender
