MattyP's .215 Leak Classroom

Read a few threads but didn't see anyone post about this yet,

I am on .211 rooted with TB pro and Apps frozen. Do I need to unfreeze them before I follow procedure #3 and #1?

Yes, if they are frozen with stock ics, then no (at least i didn't) but frozen otherwise you have to. Besides TB doesn't work once you unroot anyways, right?

Like Josh said, if you are stock, you can do step one without enabling your disabled apps. But rooted adds a level of complication because being rooted with TiBU, it is impossible to know which ones are frozen through TiBU and which are safely disabled via the phone's settings...the phones settings show all of TiBU'a frozen apps as disabled. To be on the safe side, I would go into TiBU and unfreeze all apps (that will also enable all disabled apps in settings).

Ah I see. You got a point, but after temp unroot I doubt it suddenly unfreezes the apparently that are frozen in TB. But very good point. I'm just going to do what the post above me says and unfreeze manually just in case. Can't wait to try out .215!

Just curious how much of a difference there is from .211

Like mehhh / sweet / or walk on water holy Jesus praise the lawd difference

For Some people it was huge for others it made little to to no difference because like me they had no problem with .211

Everybody's experience is different, but the biggest percentage of people who went to .215 noticed improvements. :)

Actually, let me point out that none of that is necessary for installing the leak. I think we have forgotten that this it's the .215 classroom and not the "how to root thread"

That was kinda sorta my fault ... I figured it was as good a place as any to help someone get rooted. LOL :p

And just as importantly, i don't think anyone had problems with .215 beyond doing an FDR and meter training

Josh, I think you and I are on the same page because I was thinking the same thing... I don't remember hearing any complaints about 215. Like Matty said, most people saw a big improvement (definitely not walk on water holy Jesus praise the lawd difference, though, lol) and some, not so much but not worse.

Several people have asked what apps I'm using now that I'm rooted...I was under the impression that rooting was mostly to help with battery and performance...so, what's the deal..should I be looking for cool "rooted" apps?

There are apps that only rooted phones can use. Being that I'm not rooted i'm not super familiar with them. I'm sure others well shred more light on this. By the way, you'll get more help with your old avatar ;)

First, let me say, I approve of the new avatar.

Now, back to topic...

There are quite a few cool things you can do now that you are rooted which you couldn't before, such as changing processor speed, Modding the WiFi hotspot, changing boot animations, and lots more. Many of these require either a root explorer or other root tools.

Why thank you Mr Fox...not sure how my other avatar disappeared but ..all fixed now

I'm gonna have to check into a couple of those...

I was reading about Google Now...it looks like you can get it if you're rooted..any opinions on that?
