[ROM] Maverick Rom for the Droid 3 (MavROM) - V3.0

so...which kernel and baseband are the latest?

The latest official baseband/kernel that was pushed OTA by VZW is N_03.18.29P - 2.6.35.7-g790a33cw30471@il93lnxdroid42#1 (5.7.902)

BTW, That's what I have. I haven't flashed the leak like Buckmarble and Pedwards3x did.

can i update to 5.7.894 through the instruction from XDA and not lose anything from MAV settings?

thanks
this is what I have also
N_03.18.29P - 2.6.35.7-g790a33cw30471@il93lnxdroid42#1 (5.7.902)

but in the MAIN screen shot there are different ones, so i thought i would update to 894.
should i do that or remain to the ones i have?

I'll let Buck and Ped weigh in on this one. I'm mainly here to make things pretty. :D

In order to update to the 5.7 leak, you need to be completely stock and you will need to perform the forever root on the stock system. To guide you further, are you using safestrap or bootstrap?

@buckmarble, I am on safestrap. What would the instructions be for safestrap (stock 890 in unsafe mode and MavROM 3.0 in safe mode) ?

Thanks!

Alright, do a backup then return to stock(non-safe) system and wipe data/cache. Make sure that you have a complete, unaltered(no frozen apps), rooted(obviously) stock system. Download this file: http://min.us/mWQpsrAHr#1o and use root explorer the browse to system/bin and replace the stock mount_ext3.sh with this one I linked to. This puts the forever root in place. Put the leak on the root directory of your sdcard-ext. Reboot into STOCK recovery and apply update from sd card.

Or:

1. Using Root Explorer, head into /system/bin.
2. Hit the Mount R/W button.
3. Scroll down to find “mount_ext3.sh” and long press on it.
4. Choose “Open in Text Editor.”
5. Scroll to the very bottom and add the following lines:

chmod 4755 /system/bin/su
chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su
chmod 755 /system/app/Superuser.apk

6. When finished, press Menu and “Save and Exit.”
7. Hit the Mount R/O button and reboot.

I provided the file to ensure that the edit got done correctly. I have personally tested my file and know it works. I prefer to keep as simple as possible for the new users. But you are correct, this is the process, I have just provided the file with the edit already done and tested for assurance.

buckmarble, is it worth updating to 894? my MAV works fine, but everybody needs the best settings for D3 :)
what are the advantages and disadvantages of 894 over what I have now? or this baseband and kernel over the ones already present?

when i installed MAVrom i used CWM recovery, but now i dont have anyone installed. (i usually used safestrap to install ICS on non safe and MAVrom on safe)

Well, I see a little bit snappier interface with 894 and definitely better reception with 894. The system is a bit irrelevant since mav is on 902 system using the 894 kernel and baseband. If you want to flash it you'll obviously have to go back to stock on your primary system.

That's all you have to do to keep root after flashing the OTA?

So what my phone shows me are baseband and kernel from 894, also? I am a little bit confused...
If my mavrom is having 894 baseband and kernel, than why do the differ from the ones from screenshots (and probably what you are using..). Are those not from 894 also?
