MetaMorph themes for swype

Having a problem..i did everything and got to metamorph to unzip, and it was there-swypegreen.apk...i extracted it, then went to apply all
it says the target /system/app/swype.apk does not exist, then says skipping..and then it says all themes applied.

well it didn't apply the theme, i still have the regular swype, what could i have done wrong?

you probably didn't follow the steps in the OP ;). You have to move the app from /data/app to /system/app and rename it to swype.apk

But i did that?
Well, i actually tried to paste it in system/app and it said something about read-only files and wouldnt let me. :icon_eek:

ah ok, if you're using root explorer click the button on the top right that says Mount R/W when you're in the /system/app folder, and then do the paste.

So I followed your instructions to a "T" and got the lighter black and blue keyboard loaded just fine. Well I wanted the darker blue... So I tried just metamorphing the file in.... nope nada zilch! So I tried all over again like I did before... no all of a sudden the swype program is gone. I then retried4-5 times.
Currently I tried wiping al;l remnants of swype from phone and root explorer...
re-installed swype
went into root and moved file and renamed it
opened metamorph and hit extract file...
i choose to replace the current file. It did its think then had choice to apply all or to click on sub theme. I clicked subtheme and it told me it was applying to apk/jar file or whatever. then it stopped and I was left with the file to click on or the option of picking a new theme. I exited and rebooted.
No CHANGE!

Not sure if you did this or not, but try extracting the .zip first, then select the theme.

enlighten me. how so?

Sorry, what I mean is download it to your computer, unzip it, then copy that folder to your phone's SD card, then try applying the theme using the "pick existing theme" button.

exactly, sometimes metamorph doesnt extract the files right or it could be the way i compressed it,lol never know but the work around is to download thefile to pc and extract it,check to see if all files are there and place in androidthemes folder....etc like coolsaber57 said.

UGHH. I did everything, and was able to paste and rename to swype.apk.
I applied the theme, and rebooted...but nothing changed :icon_eek: WTF.

I don't know exactly what you did but to just to make sure you have to rename and paste the swype.apk into system/app THEN REBOOT then go into Metamorph and apply the theme then reboot again...two reboots total

If you have already rebooted once trying to apply the theme with the swype.apk in system/app, you should be able to succesfully apply the theme now

The first reboot is so the O/S recognizes swype.apk as a system/app the second reboot is so swype.apk can register the theme you applied

I did that..but still was unchanged. :/

One question though..i had to copy and paste instead of move, because when i hit move, then pasted into system/app it didnt go in. I got no error message, but it just didnt show up after i did that. Would that be a reason why it's not working?

Try deleting what you have in data/app after making a copy of it and pasting it on your SD card (just in case).

Then reboot, check to make sure, swype should be working out of system/app, and it should not be themed, if this is the case then everything is how it should be.....then try applying the MM theme and one more reboot
